If course though he clearly has no interest in us except maybe as last ditch

I guess i'd mind less if we could you know work on a few bids in parallel. If we were bidding for this guy and a few other bids in for other options instead fine, it's not so big a deal that Leipzig are slow rolling it. But instead us continually chasing targets that aren't interested has clearly prevented us in thickening out the squad. We are looking at going into a season potentially without our best player either through sale or having a sulk, with the same midfield minus Longstaff when we have Europe to compete in and no massive upgrades. I want us to be ambitious, but that should be building a squad to compete, spending all our time and effort on a few players. If we only have capacity to go after one player at a time, we absolutely can't be spending weeks and weeks on one target, if the bid isn't sufficient or the player indecisive, then sorry, we have to move on. It should be a privilege to play for Newcastle United in the Champions league. We just look like Kirk Van Outen asking his ex to marry him again.

It's not happened once or twice as is too be expected, it's happened to a half dozen. We are then wasting huge amount of time chasing moving goal posts. I'm sorry this is happening too much to be just bad luck.

I can't wait for them to reject the man u bid accept ours and then it will be delayed due man u new bid and people pretending he legitimately wants to come here??? If he wanted to come here it'd be done. Agents wants man u cos easy to milk them dry.
-
And they dont need to cos he's clearly waiting around until they offer him higher wages
-
Tremendous player with heart. Best of luck

The problem is agents, player may want champions League but agent knows man u is huge payday for them.

Sigh, not at all exciting won't improve us

One thing is clear, Staverley had been a huge huge huge loss. Even though want really get job she got the fucking signings over the line
-
I'd be tempted to possibly take the pain if a huge offer came in from PSG or Saudi now and then try and fucking sign 4 or 5 players (lol). We can't sell to Liverpool, gifts them the title and weakens us significantly in the league. They can't go out and buy like for like. He will still have big value in january or next summer. It's a complicated one, we have clearly let him down to some extent, but where can he go? I'd be inclined to keep him, even if he barely plays at least we don't look like a fucking feeder club for liverpool. We do need to totally overhaul our backroom operations for transfers though, Absolute shambles.

Indeed. It's wildly clear we have overestimated our pull, our wages aren't competitive with our direct champions league rivals. We really need to go back to targeting players who are unfortunately riskier purchases. Our team were excellent at finding players with the needed mentality in Bruno, (even Joelinton in pre takeover days) and Isak all for some reason were willing to make the jump but clearly not seen as surefire successes. We have shifted profile to players who are seen as ready made squad additions for our equivalent rivals and we have not matched them on wages and we are not in fucking london, and we're probably not going to win the league or the champions league.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

May have been the moment lost last bit of respect for Klopp. Pleading poverty a) wildly inaccurate and b) totally unnecessary. Just seemed like to inflate his own achievements which is also unnecessary, no one doubted his talents as a coach ffs. -
It was reported at start of summer Isak wanted to stay but he wanted for the club to be competitive in the champions league. He cant be totally reassured by our ongoing ramshackle transfer efforts so I imagine he is thinking about Liverpool or others. I sincerely doubt he will refuse to play or anything so we can insist. If we can just get some players over the line may also reassure him.

I do see that but on the other hand you have a wold talent striker that you will never likely be able to adequately like for like replace, even if the new contract doesn't offer a huge amount more reassurance against huge bids coming in, getting him on the biggest wage we can afford shows we value him. When contract was offered and pulled away and he doesn't see a wage spike it sends a big message. I can see Staverley being over enthusiastic and not thinking enough about the PSR implications but I feel if there is a player we should be stretching our wage structure for it's isak. I guess it is plausible that we can't possibly accomodate his wage demands at the time. -
People are in dreamland with what wages we offer. It tells me we are going for players who expect more wages than we offer. We have to buy smarter and that means signing higher risk players with potential.

I mean presumably they are offering much higher wages than us so i wouldnt be surprised if they do hijack us tbh -

They definitely try and lump in nunez -
Think i read that the ownerships business was in travel industry and COVID completely wiped then out so they couldn't subsidise the team like they wanted too either. Obviously they also made a lot of poor decisions too but was more too their decline. They did immediately sell Kante too whom was an absolute cheat code for a while

My mistake meant to say in europa league. So they should enjoy that and could win it, but it's still frustrating if hardly a total disaster

If it is true kinda pathetic had plenty of time to get enough staff in. Paul Mitchell right useless cunt, identifies recruitment structure isn't up to standard (clumsily implying howe and staverley didnt do well when they clearly did) then fails to recruit enough people to do a transfer window, what the fuck did he do.
