Phil Jones is missing his true calling

We will see. Our back room operations have obviously been lacking and we clearly operate like a little club which works very well in some ways but we are way behind in others. Somewhat suspect a lot of the job will be getting PIF to make decisions on things as they are not fast. Glad Eales finally can leave to focus on his health, awful situation. However must be said Louise Taylor dropped that it was Eales who forced out Staverley. I probably understand she was a nightmare for taking all the decisions he was meant to be but she was clearly actually good at it and Mitchell, Eales mate, was a disaster. The new guy has to stop the endless churn in the back offices. The Isak saga has arguably significantly weakened our standing, everybody knows we folded. Apparently Mitchell pissed off most clubs he dealt with. All needs sorting.

Both Wissa and Woltemande have been played wide left. I don't imagine that will be first choice but i can believe it will be thrown on towards ends of games now and then. I expect Wissa will get starts normally and then we may shift to both up top if chasing if not one will sub the other.

Again would be hilarious sacking a manager for playing a 3-4-3 that doesnt work for the only other manager in the league who plays 3-4-3 (although I don't think he's quite so wedded to that system, no-one in the world is as wedded to a system as amorim)

I mean it's hard not to when you can spend £500m odd, and half of your rivals aren't even allowed to. It's difficult to take only because they made such a big fucking deal about how they can't compete on spending and needed PSR to make it reasonable. What a fucking con. I am one of the people who defended PSR a fair amount (in intent if not implementation) on the grounds of clubs being run ridiculously. The league however is really fucking crooked. Two seasons in a row of all promoted teams going straight back down, a bunch of teams circling the drain and no-one can keep a fucking good player at their club they have to sell to sell at the altar of PSR. Burn the whole thing to the ground. And this is before we talk about PSR incentivising clubs to sell their homegrown players. It's absolute nonsense.

Don't think we've got any bargains, high hope for Woltemade but at this point unproven obviously. Quality wise everything seems good sensible additions. I don't think realistically Howe would have been happy keeping Isak. I still think we're a midfielder short, ,if we sign one now would bump up but at the moment an optimistic 7.

Its footyi guess clear this week nice guys finish last. At least we have depth up top think we are ultimately stronger now but feel like we've allowed ourselves to get rinsed. Feel for Brentford too every right to milk us but he's clearly let them down too

Or maybe he's a fucking professional

May be harsh but any agent advising a player a verbal agreement is worth anything needs to be sacked. Players shouldn't sign contracts they aren't prepared to honour and their agents shouldn't encourage them to.
-
He does feel quite west ham
-
Man u didn't look thaaaat bad against arsenal in fairness.
-
Sacking the guy who plays a system that doesn't work with the players for another manager who uses the same system would be peak man u in fairness
-
Amorim feels the kind of manager that needed a year at Southampton for everyone to decide if they're any good or not
-
It's also about the character of the players. Not a big fan of anyone pulling this, absolutely no reason Wissa couldnt be playing for them.
-
We will sell because howe would rather not have a player who doesn't want to be there hanging around. I still don't think we should sell to a rival particularly one who has been a bit of a shit, but unless they come in with some ludicrous under bid he'll be a Liverpool player in a few days and his arseholery will have paid off
-
I think Froggys right in fairness Man U are not going to recover until they get rid of the short termism that has plagued their managerial thinking. They need to stop looking for a manager to who can get all the wonky parts they have randomly assembled to fit in the same team somehow and instead just rip off the scab and do the needed surgery. It's just I am not sure how many quality coaches have just one formation they will stick to no matter what, it feels such a random hill to die on.
-
I find it very hard to judge the quality of managers and players at man u as both always seemed sucked into a toxic vortex draining all talent. An exciting young manager to root and branch reform the squad still seems good idea, but I do question Amorim's absolute rigid insistence on 3-4-3. I love a good tactic as much as anyone it's clearly not working

I am sure there is sometimes logic in putting forward a bid to put pressure on, and it's a message to the player too to put pressure on to say you want to go I guess, but pretty sure Staverley just rang people up and hashed it out. You may overpay a bit now and then, but you also build up relationships for later too. Mitchell seems to have pissed everyone off and not sure current lot have changed.
