  1. Botman rarely gets a mention in the press even in analysis of our games. Nice for us for it to be low key but can't help but feel if Liverpool or Arsenal had bought him there would be ravings about him everywhere
  2. Lack of quality in the squad eventually caught up to them, you need to keep moving to stay still in the league and if you look at the squad he had it doesn't exactly scream premier league quality. One has to keep in mind he went straight from playing to managing, he has said he barely had any time to develop away from the game just had to learn on the job. He said he used the gap between bournemouth and us to learn other coaching methods and develop the bits he never had a chance to before and I think that shows, I was a bit concerned he would be a little tactically old school still when he joined, but here we are with a very modern high press (which isn't as simple to implement as people think it's not just mindless running around it's about the players all knowing when to press and where on pitch etc), with Burn acting as a sort of inverted full back so our shape in posession and out of posession is quite different. Also here he will be able to keep refreshing the players regularly to stop things going stale, which he won't have had resources before. It also wouldn't shock me to see a drop-off after a period though. Managers do struggle, and they tend to get sacked then or given resources to refresh job. Look at Klopp now Liverpool look a bit lost. He will likely come through though. Partially it's about a managers authority, if squad are sick of him and think he'll be got rid of they will probably be very hard to motivate again. Look at Ferguson though don't think any of the players ever thought they'd outlast him so he never lost that authority. He also refreshed his backroom staff to keep up to date with tactics etc and have fresh new ideas. Longevity is weird because in effect only a handful in the league ever even close to achieve it. Financially underperforming is so disasterous for most clubs they can't write off a season. As positive of it all is, Eddie's job will be in trouble if he never gets us into top 4 past the targets he will know.
  3. Disgraceful and I want an explanation. As a gay fan I don't want to be associated with a club resisting battling homophobia in the sport in any way.
  4. Then redknapp calling wilsons goal a foul lol get outta here
  5. With our defensive record should be confident but worried lol. The test comes when our awful sub bench has to come into play. Going to be a rough second half but ought to be able to nick a 3rd on break if we are sharp
  6. Meanwhile Spurs are playing like a bunch of Jack Grealishes
  7. Who the hell is that Lyanco playing for Southampton? Never heard of him, Brazillian but looks like eastern european heavy in a liam neeson film
  8. Suspect it will be Joelinton, might be attempt to nulify the wing backs
  9. Did he ever get punished for one of those neckbreaker tackles? He seemed to get away with it for half a season then I dunno if someone had a word or if it finally got called a foul? (I'm not trying to be uber critical, Kane is clearly great striker but always seems to do something mental against us and get away with it...)
  10. We'll get robbed, Kane will score after two clear red card tackles that go unpunished
  11. He's been around a while like, just one of Spurs production line of very adverage midfielders who don't do anything
  12. Think it's still there, spent silly amount of time messing around with the Theremins in there and pretending to the staff i legitimately might buy one. (If I could afford I would...)
  13. Frankly any Newcastle fan who doesn't believe Bruno at this point can do whatever the fuck he wants is weird, if he wants to take a game off to go murder someone with a sword I'd be like well fair enough he is god
  14. I remember telegraming Queen Victoria herself to say that Miggy just needed patience he would be worth the cost in the end
  15. I suppose Chelsea are a big unknown, not sure Boehly comes accross as particularly patient and Potter still unsure if he can cut it at that level (or indeed manage an unruly and powerful dressing room, been the bane for a few). Could see that happening. I just don't think poch has much stock anymore.
  16. Feel Poch ought to swallow his pride tbh I am not sure he is going to get a champions league level club at this point if he wants to manage in premier league. I wonder if he is holding out for Conte flouncing off for a glorious return? Turning around Villa for a few seasons and then he is back in the picture for a 'top' job.
  17. He's absolutely nailed on for England job isn't he
  18. Philipe Auclair has fairly consistently been criticial of us, Man city, PSG and of World Cup on human rights issues. the money issue seems a side one, and one that is entirely the fault of the door being open for it by the league etc. It is absolutely terrible for the quality of the leagues that the leading teams can spend so much and I would take in an instant a league where we are constrained significantly in spending along with everyone else, we would have to compete for the league on merit and that is how it should be. On the ethics, it is wrong for any football club to be owned by a sovereign wealth fund like we are. It's ludicrous and I agree at the rancourous state of the ethics. It's just, I do wonder with Auclaire, does he think the Premier league is a temple we have defiled? It has been defined by hideous greed since the start? I applaud everyone who can live monk like away from interacting with bad faith actors and evil corporations and bloody money. But we all have to live in this world, have our pleasures somewhere and it's frankly exhausting. I am still uncomfortable with the ownership and will sympathise with those points, but sometimes it feels like all the blame is laid at our door and all action is levelled at newcastle fans to do. I would never never criticise another toon fan for wanting to purely enjoy this. I will criticize needlessly cheerleading for teh saudi regime, you are not obliged to love unconditionally the owner of your club. But the league is rotten, don't demand only newcastle fans boycott, when it's so rotten surely you should be demanding all the fans say enough is enough of this league sort it out. But no it's just Newcastle fans and every other fan is off the hook and these pundits can keep watching the league and pretend that their conscious is clear.

    7th-ometer

a few more injuries and we are in trouble i stick to my prediction of 8th but starting to feel we should be disappointed with 9th
  21. Cancelo is a better player (absolute genius tbh) but not sure he's a better right back if that makes sense. Absolute giant.
