  1. Didnt realise he was that old, so fair enough.
  2. Trossard will have plenty of suitors but yeah would be great. Pascal Gross has always impressed me too wouldn't be a bad should should we miss out on maddison imo
  3. What's going wrong with Crystal Palace? Really thought they had signed some good players so wouldn't miss gallagher that much and were playing good stuff. Hear they were robbed against Chelsea, is it just bad luck and a false position? They played some good stuff last season was impressed by Viera
  4. Do we really have 3 really good centre backs? Is this really happening? (and a 4th choice who while limited is a great character and on his day pretty solid)
  5. So have the west ham game on in the background, and com says man of the match is - samakree and like who is that and it turns out it's scamacca, is that a weird translation or has the commentator not bothered learning how to pronounce west ham's main striker? (and even if you didn't, where the hell is the 'm'
  6. I'll have said this before but I was a bit concerned when we signed him he was a little gungho and tactically naive, couldn't be more wrong. Sorted the defense out immediately, and shown he has developed as a manager. Will be interesting to see when he has depth in the squad and the capability to play different ways what he does but he doesn't seem inflexible. I remember watching his tactical masterclass video about him beating chelsea with bournemouth and was going through his formation with a midfield of gosling nad an anonymous championship regen player and was like oh hell thats not the sort of midfield that will win you much but instead he's adapted to a proper 4-3-3 and focused on us keeping ball a lot more. We need to get more dangerous in front of goal but that will come with fit players etc etc.
  7. yes but I think all teams lack a one of the greatest midfielders of an era in their team. Chelsea's decline of late can be matched with Kante's and he knitted together a squad that on paper looks madly disparate. I agree though on a defensive mid (and despite me being one of his vociferous critics Shelvey was upping his game end of last season and staying deep and doing the defensive hard yards, with all his fitness work hoped he would keep that up) but I definitely think we should prioritize a technical defensive mid rather than a destroyer. All our injuries we need to be able to slow down games and control them more.
  8. It's amazing how a win and suddenly interested in all footy stuff again reading every article looking forward to watching match of the day

still annoyed to be below dreadful man u tbh
  10. Really hope miggy scores more than grealish this season
  11. <3 Rafa Still would love to have him involved in some way but I guess he is still after management positions. Everton was such a mess, and I still get so fucking annoyed about some of the discourse about his time with us. He was fucking brilliant for us in incredibly trying circumstances.
  12. famously so to be fair, never had agent, never had ego and yet and yet can't get past this
  13. He was so good, and while thought his chelsea move sad at least the comedy of the goal against liverpool kinda exonerated it

Does he have a poster of his Fifa card thing behind is tv?
  15. Well i don't agree has to wear a suit but come on have to have your own style if you go down in history. wenger's longest puffer jacket in history, mancini's scarf, pep's turtlenecks, it is a decidedly boring side to eddie's game and frankly he'll never be elite until he ups it ;d

While i don't listen to football weekly much anymore partly because of him he was just a wind up merchant, never really took him seriously enough to actually hate him and still listen now and then and don't mind some of his contributions, that tweet is just really really stupid though. What the hell.

He brought in youth and created an excellent team atmosphere clearly that had been really lacking. He wasn't tactically sophisticated so set us up conservatively and knew Kane and Sterling would always provide something even if we weren't in the game. Unfortunately over time we haven't developed a possession game and our attacks are slow and predictable generally, we are best when we counter attack but any sensible team won't open up the space we need to run into. He deserves an awful lot of credit for our performances, but one has to ponder if he should be moved upstairs in some capacity rather than kicked out as he no doubt will be if our performances continue into world cup. With these decent well liked coaches you always wonder maybe they could hire a tactically aware assistant who can make all the decisions in games and about how we play and Gareth can just be in charge of vibes and standing there with the waistcoat
  20. We really would benefit from a midfielder who can play keep ball and slow things down, it feels like we go for broke all game which is brilliant but part of that is we are bad at patience and holding on the the ball to take the sting out of games.
  21. It's not more defensive it allows midfield to push higher and the wing backs are more attacking and stretch play better but it is risky which is why it's an option for games where we are clearly better but they are defending deep
  22. I really agree with this actually in games we ought to be dominating. Trippier can push on and go wide to allow Isak and Wilson to play more central, it would I think require ASM to stay wider and of course you know him and tactical discipline... The big unknown factor is if Isak and Wilson will dovetail or step on each others toes.
