Totally agree but never underestimate how s*** the general public are. Some of the excuses for fans we've witnessed near us over the past few years may not be happy like. Anything that may affect their internet connection or their concentration for their phones may cause meltdowns on serial killing proportions. They normally stay hidden until the 17th minute. -
This is just one of them aftermath pictures you get when a 'yes' has greeted a marriage proposal. HOLD....ON....A....MINUTE!!!!!!!!!!!

They were exactly the same, on Saturday IIRC. I'm sure there are more on here who remember the gallowgate toilets in the 70's and 80's. Half way up the hill, you could often smell them at the turnstile and just a health hazard. Complaints of mildew seem insignificant compared to the risk of airborne death That and the annual firework throwing around the end of October. Still amazed to this day how a crowd packed like sardines could still create a hole big enough around an unexploded banger and still come out unscathed.

Personally I dont think it will be the spectacle we think it will because it will take time to get right. Id like to think of it more as a marathon than a sprint. Hopefully the fact that it wont be rocking like a German league game or some mad Turkish derby straight away wont be dissed by all and sundry as some sort of failure. The results and any momentum built will have to dictate the future of it. -
No. Footballer flies to Mallorca 7 days before a match.

Someone posted a picture of Shelvey earlier and said he was drinking at the airport before heading off on a flight to Mallorca. If true, seems strange. https://twitter.com/OwenzieM/status/761954739131191301

Too many people hoying their dummies out all over the shop. The single reason we lost to Fulham was because the team was still in 'Summer' mode. Maybe the crowd to an extent too. There was no urgency, no tempo, no real feeling that we were actually playing a meaningful game. Yes, we need one or two more plus we have a handful to return but a head shake is needed more than anything. We'll still be there or thereabouts.

This the one you mean ? http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/10523288/benitez-targets-promotion Loved the Charnley 2nd glance at Rafa when he'd walked away in that vid around the 1m 45 mark. Reminiscent of a 'you hang up' 'no you hang up'...... :smitten:

A £40 million transfer swing between Villa's and the Toon spend. Interesting.
-
We'll lose him in January for African nations duty.
-
They're nee different. Was in earlier for the open day. Still bust hand towel machines and that.
-
I reckon we'll get a couple of loans in but they wont be done until the last week of the window.
-
There's absolutely no way this is going on until Monday. What with the open day and open training session planned on the St James' turf and that being Sissoko's first day back at graft. Wont happen.
-
That Pritchard was spotted at the AFC Wimbledon v Crystal Palace game on my timeline earlier. May mean nowt but it could also mean Parsnip pinching players that we're linked with as he cant scout his own.
-
Ive a feeling that we're waiting on a striker loan from someone who is playing overseas at present. I also think that we may keep stock until January for further permanent deals.
-
Shite aside, I actually think Bruce wont be as bad a shout as is being made out. A bloke that should really have played for his country but didn't. A bloke that will know how he imagined it would feel to play for the country will put up with nobody else disrespecting a position he didn't get the chance to have. A bloke that won a dozen or so major honours with Man Utd. He'll command respect. Wonder what Obese Sam will command? (apart from boxes and boxes of hubba bubba)

I dont think there's been any big fanfare that season tickets are on general sale either. Maybe if there was, a little boost may occur.
-
A cursory glance at the FA website would also prove that the FA is run by old men. One of the three people selecting the new manager openly admits he isn't a 'football expert' ffs. That's bad that is. Even someone as footballingly inept as Lee Charnley fluked a decision right now and then with Rafa the proof. Could do worse than someone like Klinsman or Eddie Howe

If the chewing gum addict does get the job then I wonder which stooge the inbreds will get next. Whoever it is, they'll only last until January at the latest until they replace him for another boost in search of gaining that 17th place trophy target again.

more bullshit. other teams are paying monopoly money for pretty much unknown or unproven foreigners and we're being made out that we're asking unrealistic fees for players that have proven they can do it if they can be arsed. Just hot air filling the rags with no news being the real story. The club told the agents to fuck off with the players and come back with realistic offers or come back to pre-season training and it's this story that is still being run. This ignores the fact that Gini has been spotted in many training montages this week with a smile on his face. Gini and Sissoko may yet stay whether through choice or giving it to January to see where we're at. One factor that is missing in all this is that there's contracts to adhere to and professionalism will have to come into this at some point.
-
Cant disagree with this.
-
With just as many champions league winners as managers in our division, maybe Rafa will point this out. If Moussa is offered the role as head of the project (captain), then he may get him to commit up until January at the earliest. If the minimum transfer fee of £25m isn't met then it's a no go anyway.
-
While we're at it, we'll replace him with Payet for a fiver.
-
If Sissoko creates an auction and we get £25 - £30 million for him then the chances of Gini stopping must increase as I just cant see Benitez want to lose the two of them. Add in the fact that he seems happy enough in training and not his face tripping him like Janmaat and De Jong, he may yet stay against the odds. Wonder what his leadership stats are on FM? He may be tempted by a captain's role.

Personally id say a combination of Rafa + Results + Decent Performances are the next step although the flags thing will compliment the mood.
