Newcastle United 0-0 Leeds United (31/12/2022)

Jesus H Christ Trippier had a shocker offensively, surely someone else can take over free kicks for the lad when he's having an off game? Of the 1 or 2 free kicks that didn't nestle safely in the keepers arms they hit the first man, player of the season for me but shocker of a game offensively. -
Miguel Almirón (now playing for Atlanta United)

Keep expecting his purple patch to end and him to revert to type but it's just not happening. In theory he should be easy to defend against, one of our signature moves is the 1,2 with Bruno and it seems like it should be fairly obvious to well coached defence. But still it works. -
Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Thought although he put in his usual 100% and never shyed away from anything he was ineffective probably mainly because the way we play doesn't suit him. Despite the weird myth, his hold up play isn't very good and it always ends up coming straight back, his first touch is horrible and it can derail a decent incisive move. I think he's better in the air and wins a lot of duels but they aren't really accurate most of the time. As he's been said weve had far worse 2/3rd choice strikers and I don't think he's total shite but I'd like to see us have a different option from the summer and Wood moved on, just because we are doing tremendously well this season doesn't mean every player is automatically class. -

Newcastle United 1-1 Bournemouth (17/08/2022)

Even though Almiron and Fraser are nowhere near good enough to be first team regulars, I still think we are just as bad at attacking balls into the box most of the time, we never make near post runs and we never seem to be able to get get headers on target, particularly from corners where we might aswell just put it out of play and give them the goal kick to save time. We haven't looked terrible this season and we seem to be getting better at dominating possession but something isn't quite clicking going forward, at least two creative players needed in Jan for sure. -

No more relegation siege mentality to fall back on now, just a team of some good and some average/below average players trying to churn out results. Doubt we will be in any danger but doubt we will have a great season. -

It's like watching a Bruce side again, no ideas, no imagination and second to everything. What is going on? -

Too many areas of the pitch where we lack quality, particularly out wide and I'm sorry to say centrally, Bruno is an excellent player but Willock is a passenger and don't think Joelinton has been great in that role for a while. Still think we will end up winning but it will be tight. We still loon solid and neat and tidy but we don't look dangerous at all. -
Most impressive I've seen him look today, he made it look effortless, he also can ping a perfect 40 yard pass without barely even lifting his foot or head, so nice to have two Cbs who are comfortable on the ball. Even Burn is pretty comfortable too.

I don't think it's about effort with this lad, but he is definitely a bit soft, much like Willock in the way that that he won't get stuck into anything too physical whether that be a 50/50 ball on the ground or in the air, there's plenty of effort in his general play but he's just a championship player and not at prem level, which isn't really his fault. Obviously I don't know what's went on behind closed doors but we should have got a winger in and this lad should have been touted to championship clubs, which is hopefully what might happen within the next couple of windows.

We matched Palace on the day and were once again screwed over by VAR, but putting that to one side it's what we all knew, just not enough quality in the squad as a whole and any time we have key players missing we will struggle to score goals and really take it to teams, even at home, Almiron, Murphy, Willock, Longstaff have shown time and again they just aren't good enough at this level, and I think when we finish 10th this season we will wonder what could have been if we'd got in a proper CM and or winger a bit earlier. On the positive side though, we've only lost 1 game in 6 and that was a VAR joke, and we've looked fairly threatening and continued our defensive solidity, we need to get another win on the board soon though or arses will start to twitch.
-
We've been the better side and Isak trying to be too cheeky with his chance should have just buried it. We've looked dangerous but we need to address the sloppyness, almost every player guilty of over running the ball and being tackled or being sloppy in possession, it's like we are a second behind sometimes. If we address that part we will win the game, it's ours for the taking second half.

Ryan Fraser masterclass today -
I don't know man.
-
What we need, CM, RW and RB cover on loan. What I'd settle for, a proper RW. What we'll get, Murphy new contract.
-
I reckon we are done, and I reckon that's a mistake.

This guy is immediately like going down to 10, and with Wood that goes down to 9.
