After this weekend's developments I am now absolutely convinced we are going down. Everything is falling into place.

All the other sides down at the bottom look like they have more about them than us and have started picking up results like teams battling relegation do, but we're just on a steady continuing decline. Alarming parallels with our relegation season. Just hope we can survive, turf this cunt out and rebuild. If we can keep our players and bring someone in who has a clue how to deploy and utilise them we will be back up there next season.

Quite shocked to read some people's posts here, thought he got it horrendously wrong the entire first half, it was fucking embarrassing to watch. Looked so much better once we brought some decent players on, but we should have had a creative player on from the off. I think most folk called how the first half was going to go once they saw the teamsheet.

Key moment around the 80 minute mark when we were piling the pressure on, Benfica had a rare attack - he got the ball and tried to take on their player on the edge of his own box, lost it, then ran over and hacked the Benfica player. Took the sting right out of us and killed our momentum, took a solid 5 minutes to recover. Think in terms of the whole game we did okay though

Manu (h) last season? We hardly controlled the game. We definitely did, you don't need to do a Barca with 70% possession to control a game if you keep the opposition at arms length while threatening yourself then you are in control. In that particular game we did just that. Yeah we blatantly did control the game, you were probably just caking it more when they got into our final third because it's Man United and they can magic something out of nothing. We were great that day though.

But he's asking a hypothetical question if we were sure to beat the Mackems and lose to Benfica. I don't think that sentiment really applies here.

Heart says Benfica, head says Mackems. League has to take priority, I don't buy all this talk that we're safe, people were making noises like that at the end of February but we found ourselves right back in the shit.
