  1. Wish you could just show up in New York like the old days and basically become American. Now you need to have work visas and s***, such a struggle with my professional field (media) to get in when I'm on the wrong side of the cameras. Wish you could just trade citizenships with someone who wants to live in your country. One in, one out; then nobody complains about overpopulation.
  2. Douglas says we are putting transfer business on hold until after the world cup.. The same day as Ryder says we are about to "crank things up" this week.
  3. He will do better then expected.. Mostly cause we're expecting nothing.
  4. Is he actually a striker? Thought he played more in a Nolan-type role.. He seems like one of those players who is too good for the championship but not good enough for the premier league. I'd rather go for Ings or Rhodes - if we have to buy an British player from the championship, I'd rather it be someone young...
  5. Out of all the guys we've signed recently, I had the highest hopes for Mbiwa. A young, french-international who captained an unfashionable side to a championship. Now he can't get a game here and we're selling him. What a waste.

    MLS

They started out slow, but they've been crushing it lately. Won 5 straight, including 5-0 against Seattle. Nguyen has been on fire and Mullins is an early favorite for ROY. Thought Mullins had the look of a good pick, but it's so hard to tell with the draft these days. What a weird league. Out of this current wave of younger coaches, I wouldn't have thought Heaps would be the most successful.

    Sunderland

I'll settle for that, after being bottom of the league for most of last season. If we play more of the decent football we showed in certain games then I'll be happy. It doesn't take a lot to please Sunderland fans after the s*** we've had recently. Fair enough. It just reminds me a bit of the summer you brought in Gardner, Larsson etc.. I thought Poyet would try and be more creative.. It's still early obviously.

Anyone see any of the Revolution this season? Haven't been able to watch since I've moved, but they seem to be doing very well. Haven't made as many signings as other clubs, but they have a nice core of younger players coming through.

    Sunderland

they seem to be grabbing up all the no-name, mid table premier league players again. this didn't work last time.
  10. Didn't the King manage him at Southampton? I doubt he would want to be reacquainted again. Yeah he must have.. However he is a defensive midfielder so you never know. Pardew does seem to be on good terms with Lallana, too bad we didn't grab him when we had the chance.
  11. Could see him at Arsenal. Flamini replacement maybe? Yeah that would be a fit.. think he's one of the more underrated players in the league, always solid when I see him.
  12. Can we sneak in and grab Schneiderlin at least.
  13. Even if 'we' smashed them 5-0 we'd still be fucked.
  14. Any manager is lucky to get that long these days, especially working for someone like Levy. He's a good manager and I think he will do well.. depending on what the expectations are. Can he really get into the champions league? City and Chelsea are probably locks. ManU will spend loads. Liverpool will try to build on this year and Arsenal always find a way. There's isn't a ton he can do realistically with out a couple of other clubs fucking up.
  15. see you again in September..
  16. as grim as things are it's still exciting when we sign someone. who knows, maybe this guy is such a talent that even Pardew can't screw him up.
  17. what a great weekend of football without having to worry about Newcastle.. it's got me excited for the World Cup again after pretty much ignoring football for the last five months..
  18. Holy shit. didn't realize the gif in your sig moved, thought I had been drugged or something.
  19. as a neutral, it's just nice to have a mostly likable England squad for once.
