  1. Aye, sponsorless might be the kids shirt. Didn't they say they'd be doing one without Wonga next time? Hehe, and it would be just like us/puma to leave the big white blank panel, just omitting the W*nga logo, so it looks even worse!
  2. I think the colour is based on the Pennywell tan...
  3. Even if the actual plan is to sell Sissoko, it's exactly the right way to go about talking in the media. Such a contrast to Pardew:
  4. Sorry if its been mentioned already, but what is the aim of this session? Can Parliament do anything to force him to change the working practices? Or is this just to try and shame him into doing it, by making him discuss it publicly? I heard stuff on radio this morning where he is promising to do stuff for the staff, clearly just trying to look pro-active before this meeting.

Dear me... thought the Defoe ones were bad enough, but that... and from the official club account, too??!! If only they could put a concession in S*nderland Airport, eh?
  6. In fairness he has been there 13 year or something (admittedly a few years too long), though I'm not sure if they did similar for Shola and/or Harper when they left? Anyway no tears being shed here for his departure.
  7. Full quotes from the interview on this article from The Mag website: Fabricio Coloccini speaking to San Lorenzo AM630: “I want to return to Argentine football. “It is a matter of talking about my departure, I have in mind to return right now. “Priority is San Lorenzo because I am a fan and want to play there again. “I like Pablo Guede (San Lorenzo Manager) as coach. “I understand the fans and we must not delude people, but today there is more chance of returning. “There is always the idea of returning and now I have heard that I could come back soon. “I want to respect the people of Newcastle for everything they gave me. “In 2013 was all very advanced with San Lorenzo but my exit clause was for clubs from Qatar, China, not from Argentina. “My family wants to see me playing in San Lorenzo and that is my great dream, my son Thiago asks me when I will return to play at San Lorenzo. “In 2001, I decided with my heart and went to San Lorenzo (on loan from AC Milan) despite the problems that had been at the club, I was always a fan of San Lorenzo.” - See more at: http://www.themag.co.uk/2016/05/fabricio-coloccini-believes-close-agreeing-return-argentina-newcastle-united/#sthash.v7r31WPr.dpuf As others have said.... See ya!

Doing alreet so far! 2:23 seconds for his first goal
  9. Don't mind that - and if the badge had a white background instead of black, then it wouldn't be as obviously ironed-on, on a white stripe. As mentioned, very 70s Bukta!
  10. Bet he'd still do a better job for us than 'Captains' Colo and/or Fistpump!!
  11. Get rid of the Wonga splurge and both look pretty nice. I'd wear them any day of the week. Even with W*nga on them, they'd probably look a lot better without the white band and the gold band for the sponsor... just have it over the stripes or on the dark blue background... would still be visible, unfortunately.
  12. Banners on planes, banners on bridges, and now fake elaborate transfer rumours about our players. Bless them. They aren't obsessed with NUFC though.
  13. Love the home and away 95-97 kits, but also like the classic/fairly simple design of the Asics home kit from 93-94, though the material was shocking for clicking/bobbling.
  14. Don't love it, don't hate it... its just very 'Meh', which is what I've come to expect from Puma. How long till their deal ends?

    Image of the week

Took me a while to spot it, but thats brilliant.
  16. Boss is a Brighton fan, and loving that Palace and Pardew got beat as much as us. Just seen this, about the Beamback that was shown at Selhurst Park on saturday.... http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/images/localworld/ugc-images/276430/Article/images/29301837/14347291-large.jpg http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/Crystal-Palace-fans-snub-big-screen-watch-FA-Cup/story-29301837-detail/story.html
  17. We are still only beginning the 2nd week of the 'up to 2 weeks' Benitez stated for a decision. Suggestions last week that an announcement could be today/tomorrow. Don't really see the Man U situation affecting when/whether we announce it. Still think if it wasn't going to happen, we'd have heard that (from Rafa) by now.
  18. 'Newcastle fan' Clattenberg giving Palace (and Pardew) nowt. Hehe
  19. From 2 days ago... That is quite literally
  20. 'Hated' is probably a bit strong, but I went for Colo. Club 'Captain', missing with mystery injuries during the relegation run-in, is just not acceptable.... and like Mr Owen in 2009, we await a captains comment on our relegation (unless I've missed it). Maybe a coincidence with the Euros coming up, but the armband seemed to do Sissoko the world of good, whereas Coloccini seemed to see it as a hindrance, and has never shown any sort of leadership.

What? No Defoe?? Magedia strikes again!!!
  22. Sure he said a maximum of a couple of weeks. Hopefully these talks will go well, and we'll hear what we want to hear a lot sooner.
  23. Well, even if we'd beaten villa, the mackems win against Everton and better GD means we'd still be down, and I think it'd be more painful if it was happening today. last 6 unbeaten, hopefully he#ll stay and we can take this into next season.
  24. I voted B. When we got Ashley, we were happy to see the back of Shepherd... who would have guessed he'd turn out as he has. We wouldn't know what a new owners plans would be, and whether he'd appoint someone like Rafa or KK, or goes for another Pardew. However, we have a chance of keeping arguably the best manager we've had. Whilst the squad fell short of the results needed to stay up, in 9 games, there has been a marked improvement in the defence, there was certainly more fight than there had been... just not enough goals. I'm hopeful that Rafa will get enough resource to bring in some of his own players, get rid of the ones he wants to, and we push on from there. We certainly have a better chance in the championship with him, than without.
  25. To be honest, no-one expected us to get him here in the first place. Then when the break clause was announced, everyone said he'd leave if we went down. The fact he having (productive) discussions about staying, shows that there is a chance he will stay on and manage us next season. We now just have to hope the club have the same ambition as him, to create a good team and (hopefully) get us straight back up, and build from there.
