Sorry if Giggs, but just seen these quotes from Shelvey... https://www.themag.co.uk/2020/10/jonjo-shelvey-credits-steve-bruce-for-win-says-under-rafa-would-have-just-been-lumping-the-ball-newcastle-united/ So, 'lumping it' under Rafa, but I guess Bruceball is something akin to Barcelona, eh??

Yep. Hopefully the reports about them allegedly sticking with Bruce were if the takeover had happened before the end of last season, to let him see it out. IF (and its still a very big IF) they do end up getting the takeover through, then they need to get shot and bring their own manager/head coach in as a priority.

Then I suppose that's where his legal team need to earn their money. Whilst the PL may not have formally 'rejected' it, despite what Ashley says, by their own rules if they haven't had the requested information (as they claim), then they should have disqualified the 'director' i.e. PIF. However, Ashley is arguing that the club has sent through evidence of the separation between PIF and the KSA, so again, if that is not good enough for the PL, then by their rules, surely they should have disqualified PIF, which as majority director/shareholder must lead to a rejection? Hopefully its part of the narrative, and will lead to an approval at some point. #Clutching

Has it not been established that any legal action has to come from the club/Ashley, rather than the bidders? I suspect he is hoping the legal threat (along with other pressure form UK Gov, etc) make the PL rethink and push it through. He may be after compensation, but is he really going to get the value he's lost out on (£300m +)? If he doesn't get anywhere near that figure, is it worth the fight if he does really want rid this time? If he did accept an arbitrary compensation payment, he still doesn't seem to have many/any other bidders waiting in the wings.

Fail them on which grounds? The purpose of the test as far as I recall was to ensure the financial stability of the club is paramount. It’s for this reason not passing it is so controversial. The test isn’t a moral one. Just seen an extract posted on Twitter from the O&T test, and there is a section that states a director can be disqualified if required information isn't submitted (or words to that effect). The PL claim they are/have been asking for information that isn't forthcoming, so surely that gives them the grounds the disqualify PIF/The consortium and reject the takeover, if they indeed want to follow their own rules? Then a formal rejection could be formally appealled? Unless Mike Ashley is going to appear on TV with the written rejection, much like Carver did with his letter from Coloccini? Hehe

Only this, from the BBC. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40928467 Its suggests the deal was resubmitted (presumably as part of the appeal process) as a personal investment by Jisheng Gao, and then it was approved. PL comment: A spokesman for the Premier League said: "As with any change of control at a Premier League club, we have checked the sources and sufficiency of funding in place to acquire the shares, and been provided with a detailed business plan showing the new owners can sustain the club going forward. "We have also conducted the Owners' and Directors' Test, which includes detailed background checks on any individual proposing to acquire more than 30% of shares in a club, or to be a director on the club's board." So suggests this one was originally rejected as the bid by Gao's company 'Lander Sports' due to worries over ongoing funding/running of the club.... which is what the O&D test is supposed to be about.

Don't think Bruce understands that his 'war chest' (however much it is) has to cover wages for the duration of theif contracts, as well as all associated fees. He must think if he signs loads if loans/frees, then he still has his full chest to do some 'proper transfers'.
-
"He's here to stay!" Well, for two years. Maybe.
-
I see he also said he's still 'banging down the door' for new signings. #PFM

That would work for me, TBH. Reubens may also up their stake slightly if she was putting in the rest. Then the KSA/PIF can stay out of it and it should sail through. #Clutching Just need her to win that court case now. October is it? The initial aim was a takeover at last seasons end so new owners could step in and the transfer window would be interesting. As it is, we stumble into next season, and if a takeover happens now, even if it takes weeks/months, then so be it. This season is already a write off, so anything positive will be a bonus.

Yeah, think we need/deserve some sort of response from PCP/Reubens now on where this sits, is it ongoing or a dead duck, and are PIF still a possibility or are they gone for good now? Staveley made the call to fans, who responded massively, and the PL have responded with similar answers to both Chi and NUST now. Whether you like their resonses or not, it looks like all were going to get from them. Its back to PCP/RB now.

The poll only features people who have actually worn it... In fairness, Ba's shirt did have a number 9 on it. Hehe

Buying from League 1 now? Well, Steve's gotta make his £30m war chest go a long way, especially when its got to cover wages, signing on and agents fees as well.

Thought the name rung a bell... he scored their winner against us at Burnley in 2017.

I suppose we could do worse than owners who come in like the guy/family at Leicester (RIP). They haven't spent crazy amounts on the team (I don't think), but gradually built the team up to a competing level, and also pumped money in to build the facilities as well as the local community. Perhaps not to the extent the KSA may have, but hopefully they also come without all the baggage. F*** It, I'm back in!! Hehe
