  1. Just watching the video - agree with other comments, very odd to go to such extent for another 'assistant head coach'. They didn't even do that when longserving former player Steve Harper joined the coaching staff, did they? First 3 or 4 minutes was him/them drumming in that he's a geordie and a Newcastle supporter (season ticket holding family, was at Keegans first debut, etc, etc). Then his role: Then last bit, all about bigging up his CV, his time with Belgium, etc. Then talking about this squad, calloing them good players, and finding a system to suit them. Yep, definitely talking like he's got bigger remit/plans than just being a 'neutral' here to offer bits of advice, that might not even be taken.
  2. Was thinking that earlier in the week about when Bruce arrived. There was no video like above, and just a statement on the club website with a few quotes, and dont even remember any pics 'holding scarf/shirt'. And certainly don't remember him being welcomed onto the pitch at his first home match or anything.
  3. Hahaha... obvioulsly got a delay on my stream. Was busy typing after the qualiser and then they scored again! We were level for what, 2...3 minutes???
  4. Actually, just seen a tweet from Edwards yesterday and he seems to be implying its the club who pulled the plug, and not Bruce. Of course.
  5. I only saw mention of it by Hope, Simon Bird (The Mirror) and The Chronicle. Bruce probably had a private call to his best mate Edwards.
  6. He'll be seen as the manager to guide us through the Championship. They know they won't get another yes man of any note anyway. Absolutely no chance he's lasting that long. He'll be gone within two weeks. Where does Graeme Jones fit into this equation then? Saw it speculated on Twitter, maybe Ashley has been touting the job but no-one will touch it, either at all under him, or under the current 'Takeover Limbo' situation. So they bring Jones in as 'coach' maybe on someone elses recommendation (Alan Carr's dad?), another local boy, and then they have a ready-made caretaker if/when bacon-boy doesn't improve?
  7. The club are clearly hoping that two negatives make a positive!
  8. Waddle in the Chronicle today, criticising the tactics, but hoping Steve gets to keep his job.
  9. He steps down as chairman, which means theres no link anymore between PIF and the Saudi Gov / Royal Family, thus takeoevr can proceed as only hurdle PL mentioned was MBS undergoing O&D test? #Clutching
  10. The hope is probably that this 'new set of eyes' will advise Bacon boy where the team is lacking, and give ideas/options how to improve it. But, as it seems Bruce isn't fully onbaord with this appointment, he'll probably ignore the advice and things wont change. At that point we may see Bruce pedalled and this new 'coach' step up. Hopefully not too late though.
  11. Not sure an official 'reason' has been given. But it's clear the so called 'big 6' clubs fear a cash rich Saudi backed team pushing one of the down the pecking order, and doing a Man City. Used to be a Top 4 didn't it, till Chelsea and Man City got taken over pushed in. And of course, only so many european places to play for.
  12. Meh, if anyone / any journo is going to dress this up as Bruce being ok with it, and thus 'safe', its Edwards.
  13. Conceded 5 less than Liverpool did here. #Winning
  14. Bruce will probably bring up the fact the Villa put 7 past Liverpool earlier in the season as an excuse for this one.
  15. Steve using Liverpools results/form to justify ours there? Also, bloke who never uses excuses, using excuses.
  16. Man, read that as 'steve bruce, on his way'. Thought he'd been peddled!
  17. That's what they'll tell Bruce, yes.
  18. Just seen the Liverpool - Burnley result from last night. So Bruce was getting big praise (from his media/pundit mates) for setting us up right to stop Liverpool scoring in the 0-0 up here, yet it seems it was just the start of Liverpool misfiring (not scored in the league since), and not so much Bruce's fantastic tactics, then?
  19. Three loaves of bread. One for each member of the consortium. The bread took a long time to "prove" like it took a long time to prove the seperation of PIF from the Saudi state. It's clear as day. Yes, but then "it proved". Does this mean he's 'proved' to the PL of the legal/actual esparation of Saudi state and PIF, and thye've finally accepted it? Probably, defifnitely maybe.

Just need their own Airport now, then they'd never have to drive up to 'Ponteyland' anymore. If they had their own airport, wonder if they'd still go on holiday in SAFC shirts/full kits, or is that just when they 'tak Ponteyland Airport'?
  21. Just seen that clip of Neville after last night match, retweeted. "I haven't seen Steve Bruce for 12 years, even though I played alongside him, and this isn't a Steve Bruce defence piece, but..." Then goes on to blame/criticize anything and everything to do with NUFC over the las 10 years, except Steve Bruce.
  22. More comments here, but guess most of the papers are going to catch up with it... https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/steve-bruce-newcastle-united-sack-23326601 Bascially, its still Rafa's fault the players are too comfortable playing 3 at the back. But Brucies still trying to get them onto the front foot. Love to see how the players react to this. If he hasn't lost the dressing room already, surely this is Trump levels of saying what he wants as he knows he's on his way out?
