He must at least be due a knighthood soon, for saving the high street, and all that. John Hall got one for building a big shopping centre. He never put his hand in his pocket and bought one shop, never mind how many 'Sir Mike' has.

Just seen those quotes from him. That is unreal to call a young player out like that, and basically blame him/his agent for the contract situation.
-
Best player in the league? KK would have him believe he was the best player in Europe! Such was that mans Gods ability to make players do the extraordinary. Aye, even got Owen playing and scoring regularly during that few months when he first came back.
-
'Unbeaten in 7 games' seems to be the new propaganda tag line. Seen it from both Edwards and now Pete Graves today. Completely ignores the fact 3 of those 7 were against league one opposition, and two of them we scraped draws!
-
Edwards is off again... canny little twitter spat between him and Chopra, with guest appearance by Wraith... Edwards tho
-
Just seen this on Twitter, from yesterdays match.. The size of that TV!! Don't know if thats an isolated incident, or if all the concourse TV's are being reduced in size/cost. #AshleysNUFC

So basically blaming Rafa (again) for the way they are playing now, and the lack of goals, then.
-
Its live on BBC1 as well.

"Passes don't win ya football matches" #Ando

Is that the line I've just seen on Twitter, where Charnley has told him "nothing in the Saudi takeover up to now"? In reality, would Charnley know or tell Bruce anything until it was a done deal? #Straws

Don't be cross.

Reuben Brothers? They look more like the Mitchell brothers on that pic!!

Speaking of Palace, I'm surprised we ain't been linked to Townsend again. Yet.

Totalsport has also been terrible last couple of nights. Tonight in particular, basically rolling out the stuff from Samuels article, i.e. why does a rich Saudi ruler need a broker (Staveley) to do the deal for them? And Ando sounds like he doesn't want a takeover to happen - keeps saying... "to catch Man City and Liverpool will take a load of money, and then what will they do... just spend more?" Its almost like he's saying whats the point of a takeover. This followed the journo guest (James Hunter) saying that FFP had reigned in Man City after their early big spending, so it didn't matter what funds a new owner might have, FFP would mean he can't spend it on the team anyway. Again, seeming to be push the 'whats the point' line.

This is absolutely identical to ALL the other fakeover stories. 2 or 3 other parties are interested. Wey fuck off man, it's so predictable. Aye, miraculously there's suddenly other 'interested parties', none of which ever get revealed or seemed to be as far on as the one leaked and trying to prize the club from his fat sweaty mits. And then, never mentioned again once the main attempt falls through.
-
Haha, caller on Totalsport said he'd rather stick with Ashley than have Saudi owners, because 'Better the devil you know'. Well, if the reports above are true (about wanting to retain a stake), the devil we know is an absolute ****! If people would rather Ashley stayed, then they have the club they deserve.
-
So apparently he's telling them to buy it, and they say the obstacle is getting him to sell.
-
Never mind Edwards and Grim Ryder.... has Steve Wraith dismissed it yet??
-
As someone else said, probably be like Hughes at Man City when they got taken over. As soon as he hit dodgy results he was gone, replaced by Mancini. It happening then?
-
Roma gadgie has dismissed the takeover rumours. (The Ronnie)
-
No journos will analyse/question it, because as Ando said on Totalsport last night.... "Possession doesn't win ya football matches... putting the ball in the net does, and we've got more points now than we did this time last season"
-
Its funny, but I'd just started thinking that the takeover rumours had gone quiet (despite the transfer window being open), and that maybe/hopefully things were happening behind the scenes and not being played out in the press this time. Then we had the Mexican story appearing (that turned out to be old), but now this new rumour. Business as usual then, and probably nowt to see. Of course, if this Roma owner is as bad as some fear, this will be the one that happens!

Here's the breaking story, from The Guardian archive... https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/jan/16/newsstory.newcastleunited4
