  1. Oh yeah without a doubt. As Ki said this Guehi saga has been a shambles from the moment we were quoted that asking price. Fair enough you make your offer but if they are still quoting such figures you obviously have to look elsewhere and reassess things. Why this didn’t occur we will never know but I think it’s this which is the real kicker for me at least. So it’s either we have a list of targets for positions we need to strengthen and none are attainable which seems like a massive stretch) or we just focus our time and energy on single targets (same approach which dug man united current hole btw). I know some posters will fine these comments knee jerk but if they take a step back and consider things something has gone seriously wrong and that warrants inspection.
  2. Which is fine, if that’s what comes out in the wash and we under perform because of that Eddie would have to fall on his sword. It’s absolutely the critical the working structure is set up correctly for the club to function, for a sporting director to work, the manager has to work in tandem unless your man city your generally not getting your first choice targets everyone manager included has to be flexible.
  3. In defence of the club and to pay a bit of devils advocate we are kinda banging on the glass ceiling at this stage, the players we want means we can only really bring in one purple per year without selling anyone. It kinda comes back to the overall culture of not wanting to take risks or make hard decisions which I think is one of the contribution to our current position.
  4. I think they won’t do anything now, i expect they will have a paralysis and the briefings about not panicking and being happy with the squad will begin.
  5. Funny thing is, throughout last season we were told by the client journalist that this would be a very busy summer with a lot of movement expected.
  6. As the ceo the buck stops with eales, that’s what he’s paid the big bucks for. Obviously he’s not the person identifying talent and such but he’s the personal who’s ultimately responsible for performance.
  7. Just to make you feel better as well, the England job is available and Howe clearly told the world if it isn’t working for him he’s out.
  8. F5 button getting ready to be worn out when that rate our window thread drops.
  9. I’d like to apologise to the Minteh fundamentalist. I was certain we would bring in a right winger who’d be much better than Minteh is and all would be forgotten. We still have time, but let’s not kid ourselves.

I don’t think anyone has an issue with us walking away, those articles hinting we will likely sign nobody of note and the inevitable no time left excuse is what will trigger everyone

Mount went for what 70m with a year left? I reckon they get 50m for him next season no worries.

Couldn’t disagree more like, you can still stagnate at a higher position than what we did. We are basically asking Eddie to perform miracles year on year in order for us to not stagnate which isn’t sustainable. if we are being honest, the owners haven’t actually made any difficult decisions since coming in.

Not really, they still get a massive pay day next summer and they don’t need the money given how much selling they’ve done.

That’s because he isn’t but we are fixed on him for reasons which haven’t and won’t be explained.

So we increased our offer and they still told us no

No, we aren’t to be very frank. Ultimately if the goals the chairman has spoken about are true we want afford bad windows, we can’t afford to go backwards. Why? Because the players we do have which are of the level which we aspire to be are not going to hang around and as we’ve witnessed, players of that calibre aren’t cheap and we’ve had our injection of cash the rules do not permit it in happen over and over. We could only spend the way we did because Ashley was a tight ass.
  17. No, we have some money to spend as has been reported. We’ve bid 60m for Olise and 65 for Guehi. Personally I think Tonali has made them think twice about buying from the continent as they don’t have the levels of due diligence to feel like it’s a sure thing.

Just be something with me as this feels like a hilarious conclusion. on the other side of the coin; we don’t appear to have any evidence of us even speaking with them since our last offer which wasn’t replied to. hopefully we’re for other irons in the fire because if not, the board have taken the piss out of the fans to be very frank who’ve been milked all summer.

100% and we’ve only got ourselves to blame. The price they quoted was a fuck off price to begin with yet we kept barking up the palace tree. (Embarrassed twice in one summer by palace is indeed hilarious).

Just waiting for us to loan one of the bomb squad now and go back for him in Jan.

Save that last ask for deadline day
  22. Unless we have a replacement which I doubt we do I’d expect Eddie to veto that anyway.
  23. Jokes aside I wouldn’t get pissed off, I do think they have a plan and as usual we want to do stuff on our terms. I’m sure the feeling from inside the club is Palace are asking for a lot and we’ve been very generous with our valuation.
