  1. Since Rafa came in, Mitrovic has actually started playing the way all his fanboys claimed he was playing under McClaren. Really warming to this lad now, still wish he hadn't been thrown in at the deep end straight away.
  2. Aye. Best player by a mile today, but having him as our main striker is one of many reasons we're going down.
  3. I guess it's this season's equivalent of the Villa game in 2009, but they just don't hurt me as much any more. Nothing this season has felt as bad as those 4-1s against Sporting and Man Utd.
  4. Once again, I have to point out how unbelievable it is that there are people on this forum who think he's 'important' for us.
  5. 9. Last couple of years we've seen Leicester and Sunderland flick a switch and inexplicably start winning. That's our only hope really, a miracle.
  6. 7. 10 if we lose to Norwich (which is an even bigger game btw)
  7. He looked like he might have been up for it at the start, but the early promise soon faded. He completely messed up our 2 most promising opportunities and I'm baffled by people saying he played well.
  8. Detestable little gobsh*te deserves the sack as much as McClaren
  9. It's now officially down to 2 from 3 teams to join Villa, and one of them is better than us...
  10. Hopefully this week has finally put an end to one of the myths on this forum, that we need Sissoko.
  11. It's a great question, pretty much nails it. The "answer" though...so f***ing arrogant. They're not taking anything in. Will be genuinely interesting to read the minutes (for a change) if we get relegated. Would they accept any responsibility? Would they even accept that we aren't in the Premier League any more?
  12. It'll be exactly the same as always (pointless). "There's no point dwelling on the season so far", "McClaren is the right man", "we've spent a lot of money", "new brand of toilet paper in the men's toilets".
  13. I feel sorry for him, it's not his fault our only 2 LBs are crocks/not very good. No excuse for not being able to make a simple pass though...
  14. It's performances like that make me so baffled when people come out with stuff like "he has to play" or "he's so important". Not buying it, he's mostly rubbish.
  15. I remember they got cheered off after that 4-0 cup defeat to Spurs as well. It gives our fans a chance to pat themselves on the back, but really it's just horrendously cringey and pathetic.
  16. Exactly what I was thinking. I can't remember a worse side at SJP. Even Norwich matched us for 50/60 minutes. I can barely remember West Brom winning a game this season, never mind going on a vaguely decentish run of form. How are they not in the bottom 3 or 4?!
  17. It's looking like it's Villa + Sunderland/Newcastle/Norwich. Scary times.
  18. Can't agree with that. Our business over the last year is solely down to the fact we've been on the brink of relegation. Once we bring in a proper manager, and buy players with a view to winning cups/finishing high up the league, I'll be "more convinced". The target is the same as it always has been, survive and nowt more. I don't wanna go down tbh (although it wouldn't hurt me the way it once would have) I did mention the relegation threat tbf. But they could have stuck to the cheap foreign imports, and they haven't. Giving Perez a new deal is only good news as well. True, but had we not been so awful last year, or been midtable last month, we'd have seen 2 very different transfer windows.

  20. 6/10 Some good signings. New striker. Massive flaws in defence remain. Team only a bit better. Premier League future very much in the balance.
  21. Scored enough to get us 5th once and keep us up twice, like. He's not the answer but stupid posts like these this place can do without. Aye, he gets a shocking lack of respect from some people considering he's made a massive contribution to the club.

    Loïc Remy

Ba is the best since Shearer FYI lads. Would love Remy back of course though...
  23. Bloody hell! Some people just won't criticise one of the more popular players will they?
  24. Neither Anita nor De Jong (in his present state) would get near the English squad no matter what kind of game you want to play And the argument kinda falls apart when you look at the current state of Anita and De Jong's national team...
