  1. Huge goal for Northern Ireland! Should finish in the top 2 now imo. Massive result.
  2. I think that was probably down to the fact that most of us was expecting Wales to qualify yesterday, a natural low given what we were expecting. The way I look at it we need a point from 2 games one of which is Andorra and quite frankly if we can't secure a point we don't deserve to qualify. We were poor apart from the first 20/25 minutes then we run out of ideas. Having no decent centre forward doesn't help. The rankings are a joke by the way I think we would have been 4th had we won last night which is ridiculous to be fair. We are a good team with one exceptional player and another very very good one in Ramsey. Nothing more nothing less. The rankings are mental aren't they? Plenty of teams have done as well as/better than Wales in qualifying, so why are Wales (and Romania) so ridiculously high?
  3. Was it just me, or did the players and pundits seem pretty miserable considering Wales are all but officially qualified and in their best position since the 50s?
  4. Riviere for me as he's never even shown a glimpse of competence. Williamson and Obertan may be awful, but Obertan has contributed a little (twice maybe) and Williamson has had some good runs. Gouffran was a fairly solid player for quite a while too.
  5. 1. they've lied too many times for me to take anything like this seriously 2. finishing 8th is a pathetic target. More of the same 'stay up but avoid Europe'
  6. really daft considering walcott will break something at some stage. Plus if coquelin gets injured then the replacements arteta? Thats not good enough for a team who should be trying to win the league I know everyone takes the piss out of moaning Arsenal fans, but they are a frustrating club. Just seem determined not to win the league.
  7. I'd give our window a 7/10. Better than I expected, and we're clearly a lot stronger. Still would have liked more defenders and there will be some mediocre/awful players making too many appearances this year.
  8. He probably gets them an extra 20 goals this season, that could be the difference between promotion and midtable. He basically got them promoted by himself last time. If he does get them promoted, losing him on a fee is a small price to pay.
  9. If he have 8 points from 8 games having played all of last season's top 4, I'd be pretty happy (provided we don't mess up the nice run of fixtures that starts after Man City).
  10. I know he can be frustrating, but I don't get why people would 'lose patience' with a man who got a goal every 2 games last season because of preseason performances!!!
  11. Until he gets to a point at Palace where people expect big things from him/he joins a bigger club, we're going to have to accept that he's doing a good job. He always has performed quite well when free of expectation. Under any sort of pressure though and we know what happens. Cowardly, awful football and deranged behaviour.
  12. Some crap referee being crap 2 years ago is not really relevant to yesterday's match tbh.
  13. To be fair, we've had 2 games with 10 men against superior teams and a game at Old Trafford where we probably produced more chances than we'd have expected. If we're not creating against West Ham and Watford I'll start to worry.
  14. I think you'll see plenty of red cards for fouls like that this year. I don't think Arsenal would have moaned if he only got yellow, but some of the comments on here are silly. It was nowhere near as controversial as their non-penalty...
  15. Something's not right at Chelsea, my gut feeling is that he will definitely go and it will be hilarious
  16. I think if he got a yellow, there would be no major complaints from Arsenal. Regardless of what you think about modern football though, you will see reds given for that these days. I'm more angry with Mitrovic than Marriner (who was still pretty awful). Last couple of games have made me a little more relaxed about our defence, but the time for looking for positives and 'heroic failure' is over. Have to use the West Ham/Watford games as a chance to climb the table especially with Chelsea/City after that.
  17. Southampton bloke at work: "I don't even want us to go far in Europe". What the f*** is the point of your existence then? You're not winning the league or getting into the Champions League any time soon, and he's not bothered about the domestic cups either. I can understand why the owners don't care for the europa and that's bad enough, but I will never understand why a fan wouldn't want to take it seriously unless they genuinely think they can get top 4 this season.
  18. Teams like West Ham and Southampton not taking Europe seriously.
  19. As it stands, I'd still rate last season's top 9 as definitely being better than us, so I'd say a top half finish represents a solid effort by the players. 8th or above (the club's target apparently) would be an overachievement.
  20. I'll always want us to draw the worst team in the competition at home. Stuff your away trips
  21. Obertan is a massive coward. He does everything he can to avoid taking players on. He's played worse, but he was rubbish again today.
  22. I'm feeling reasonably confident that we will do rather well when we get some more winnable games. Despite a fabulous clean sheet, I still worry about our defence. They let us off the hook quite a lot today.
  23. People who get overexcited when Neuer comes out of his penalty box.
  24. He's a big cutie ain't he, it's a shame this didn't work.
