  1. Exactly what enforcement powers does Fifa actually have? I know they hold players licenses but this only matters because people agree that it does. They can't exactly turn up at a stadium and arrest someone who is trying to play if both teams are fine with them playing. I suppose they can not recognise a result but again if the competition the teams are playing in does again who cares. The reason I ask is I wonder how far off an actual boycott of the World Cup by certain teams is. If Denmark qualify and the Greenland situation escalates I could see them boycotting and I could see European countries joining them, I would fully support this. If this were to happen I think Europe has the capacity to hold an alternative World Cup at relatively short notice. It is actually an opportunity to wrestle control back off the awful organisation that is Fifa. Honestly that abomination needs to die.
  2. Colours to the mast. I am properly surprised at how shit they have been. At the time I thought Frank was a really astute appointment and I expected them to really threaten the CL places this year. I'm not sad it's all gone tits up bit I am suprised.
  3. I can't shake the feeling that he's destined to end up at City where he will promptly embark on a Kalvin Phillips career path. Huge shame if he did. One thing is guaranteed he will move on for an inflated fee, as others have said even in this inflated market he's at most a £50 million player.
  4. How long have you supported us? Surely by now you know this is an inevitability. The only way it could be more nailed on is if he were a former player or if he were one of the 5,000 players we missed out on in the summer. That is just Newcastle's luck. We just have to hope to score more.
  5. A bit like Man U and I wonder if Real are becoming unmanageable. If someone with Alonso's connection with the club and record as a manager lasts just 8 months and is binned off when they are 2nd in the League who could go there, actually make changes and if they don't immediately work out, survive? It's a nice payout for whoever takes it in anyway and like Man U they could probably fail, take the cash and carry on reputation unscathed.
  6. It's pretty clear we needed a Krafth replacement this window. This was the case before the recent injuries and it is even more so now.
  7. He didn't look fit today at all. Moving uncomfortably all game and second guessing himself as a result.
  8. File football commentators who lean into the whole "Woe is me this is a shit game and I have to commentate on it" under my personal football pet hates. Lawrenson pioneered it and he was cunt bubble number 1 in my books. It gets on my tits far more than it rationally should.
  9. A poor game from him, but he put in a decent amount of defensive work which isn't being credited. He has great attributes but when opposition teams correctly play him and don't allow him space in behind his limitations, particularly his inability to go past a player with the ball, are really highlighted.
  10. I was thinking the same. He's been so good this season. His composure on the ball is arguably the best in the sqaud.
  11. Hopefully not a similar result. I was sure we'd win that game too.
  12. The fall Nuno and Forest have experienced since April is quite impressive.
  13. Like Longstaff I can see him doing really well for a mid-table team, with the accompanying seller's regret on here, provided gets a run of games. He falls into that category of players who aren't quite good enough to be starters for us given where we want to be but are still good players. Anyone doubting this needs to just rewatch THAT assist he made for Isak.
  14. So what is actually wrong with Elanga? On terms of fitness that is, not why he has been a bit shite.
  15. I may have gone mad and played my free hit FPL card to go heavy on Newcastle, even stuck Wissa in there. Apologies in advance.
  16. Yeah strong disagree. We have two strikers who are more than capable of scoring if given any kind of service. We need players who can get that service to them and create cha ces
  17. This speculation or based on a report somewhere? Sadly I do think Big Joe's time here is coming to an end and I can see signing a Brazilian international being appealing to a Saudi club, but with Newcastle 2 and 2 doesn't often seem to add up to 4.
  18. I love Joelinton but can't see good things coming from him starting. If anytone is a walking potential red card in that game it's Joelinton.
  19. Given that we know that their main strength in this will be a frenzied start backed by the crowd, what do people think of a back 5 to start with the idea that we intentionally soak this up and hit on the break. We could even unleash raw pace on them at 60 minutes when they should be flagging.
  20. Thanks for the replies they confirmed my suspicions. Snides are not my thing so I'll give it a wide birth.
  21. Also this is very, very nice but I'm not someone who wears anything Newcastle except shirts when watching the game this however might cause me to bend that rule.
  22. Does anyone have any experience with https://www.myretrojersey.com/ They have a version of the 1995/96 away shirt that looks decent i.e. with the Adidas label but something just seems a bit off with them. Are they legit or just a more respectable looking front for something you'd get off the dodgy Chinese website people use.
  23. There is just something about his body language that doesn't inspire confidence. He's not bad but he's not a long-term solution if we want to kick on.
  24. Bowyer Vs Dyer style punch up between Isak and Ekitike, with Liverpool being 2 nil down and Isak having just fluffed a chance when a pass to Ekitike for a tap in was on, would be nice.
  25. I'll pop this in here as well as the tickets and travel chat. I live in Düsseldorf so if anyone ends up with a ticket they need to shift I'm a very willing buyer. Also I'm happy to distribute Düsseldorf tips. Tip number 1, if you hit the Altbier hard sleep with the window open. I like it but after a night on it your duvet will be levitating from all your emissions.
