  1. I'd love Paqueta bit don't think they view CM as a top priority this window. Certainly not enough to pay 60m when we have 2 competent attackers in the squad.
  2. Rodri is one of City's most important players. No way he doesn't start.
  3. There's a weird lack of black GKs in European football relative to other positions.
  4. The biggest issue is the drop in quality when he's not available. Maxi picks up a fair few injuries and takes a while to get his sharpness back as well. Ekitike would have been great cover for both these positions.
  5. Would prefer a pacier option to Asensio. Think his game is more suited to Spain or Italy.
  6. £20 now is miles better than £10 going to Ashley so I don't mind the prices in that sense. It starts to get expensive when you're taking a family though, and friendlies are the type of game that alot of parents want to have a day out with the kids maybe take them to their first game and test the waters let them get a feel for it. With the economy the way it is ATM I can see a lot either not being able to or just not wanting to pay these prices, which is a shame. I mean they'll probably sell out so you can't say they've priced it too highly in a way but they could have made it more affordable. Even just something like two adults and two kids for £40.
  7. EH said the waybee played was not our long term plan, it was all about survival. The arsenal game was much more how we intend to okay going forward.
  8. If you were a player and the club asked you to move for a 70% wage reduction so they could bring in a replacement on twice the wage you were already on you'd probably not be over the moon, like.
  9. Arsenal not getting Champions League last season was kind of disasterous for them.
  10. He's played an insane amount of professional football for his age, like. Which probably hasn't helped. Bruno is a year rounger for example with under 10k minutes played, Tielemans has 32k!
  11. Honestly Shelvey under Eddie has been better than Tielemans has been this season. Tielemans is a better player but they do have alot of the same weaknesses.
  12. Both had one year left on their contracts I think and they couldn't really afford to renew them at the wages they were after. Selling Mane makes sense as Diaz and Jota fit in better on the left than the right.
  13. Thing Giroud had more goals in open play than those you listed combined in that campaign. You're right though, they barely conceded a goal in Europe once Tuchel took over. They are hard to beat in cup competitions with their system and setup. Missed a load of chances against Liverpool in both finals this season and even against Madrid. They'll just throw another 100+m on their attack this summer and try again.
  14. An agent is there to represent the player and get the best deal for the player, really. If everything else is agreed and in place and he wants to join you'd assume he'd be putting pressure on the agent to just accept the deal, I'm sure what were offering him will be fair. It's just an odd situation.
  15. Still think we need a CM, RW and a versatile attacker who can play across the front 3 when needed. Long way to go in the window but my gut feeling is we won't get all 3. Think we'll be a bit light in terms of quality and depth uptop come the start of the season.

    Footy trivia

https://www.jetpunk.com/user-quizzes/24961/newcastle-united-premier-league-players If anyone is bored. Every player that's played for us in the premier League.
  17. https://www.dailystar.co.uk/tv/eastenders-barry-star-posed-manchester-27236098 Hadn't heard of this before
  18. There's been a good positive atmosphere at every game since the takeover really. There's way more neagtivity about ASM on here than there is at the ground. The talk about how all the big money summer signings are going to get hounded out by the crowd is really daft. Of course you can find a few knackers on twitter you can for any subject.
  19. Kane thinking he had a verbal agreement that he could be sold under certian conditions rather than getting it written into his contract is a perfect example of why players need a good outside representative. The problem is when there's so much money on the line there's always going to be personal gain and greed that means some of these people will operate with the best intentions for themselves rather than the player. Having a family member do it can just make things even more messy. Dembele can't get a move away from Barca ATM because he is agent wants £45m in fees, that's just ridiculous.

    Sven Botman

'The Botman transfer saga' sounds like a shite Indie band I'd have seen during the uni days.
  21. Yup. ATM we can't even offer half of what teams like Arsenal can to their top players. Means we'll have to buy from teams like the ones we are targeting in France and hope there's no real competition. Chances are we end the summer window further behind the top 6 than we started it. It's still early day in this project I suppose but that sort of wage cap will have to be abandoned soon.
  22. Linekar is a bit of a knacker. Didn't he blame 'old age' on not wearing COVID masks whilst shopping even though he spent months lecturing and having a go at people about the same thing? Comparing himself going to the Qatar world cup to war journalists working in Ukraine was very bizzare as well. He's often getting in weird arguements with people such as Michael Cox saying he has a lack of understanding because he's not played in the premier League or that he's not a real cricket fan for not knowing someone who had played a handful of tests for England before he was born
  23. Think fans of relegated teams often claim similar of their more talented attacking players. He'll go on to well at a much better team than Watford.
