I called this one months ago and got dogs abuse on here. The plaudits from last season went straight to his head and he thought he’d be tearing it up in the Champions League. Probably got told by Chelsea in the summer that it was never going to happen and the best thing was to come back here on loan and try and put himself in the shop window for next summer. So he comes back and brings a few mates with him. (Literally has a crew of fuckwits living with him) Not sure if his girlfriend and child are even spending that much time in the NE. He’s a twat but then he is still a kid so not sure what to expect. Attitude is all wrong, but that’s football for you. Average players now earn more than the very best of the best earned 10 years ago Where’s the motivation? Especially at a graveyard like this club is right now

Of no value to us at this point, we should send him back to Chelsea.

This thread is only perpetuating the smallest glimmer of hope that the club will ever do anything right. Just lock the thread man and do what’s best for everyone’s mental health. There ain’t nothin happenin

Ashley is a known quantity at this point. We know he doesn’t care, we know he’s taking money out of the club, we know he has no plans for this club other than it to exist so it can advertise SD. We’ve known this for 10 years. What I can’t get my head around is how someone from the area who is supposed to be a life long fan (Charnley) can be an accomplice. He gets away with it lightly.

I can see why they wouldn’t want to loan. If he turns out to be “not suited to English football” his value would drop significantly. If they sell now they’re looking at anywhere between 16 and 25 million. And it’s for the same reason most clubs here won’t stump up that fee. It’s a gamble.

It’s a shot to nothing really. We didn’t expect any incoming players so if it all backfires we haven’t really lost out.
-
We’re the 19th richest club in the world apparently. First time in a few years that we’ve made the top 20 list.

I’ve never understood the whole outpouring of grief for people that have nothing to do with you. It’s like people are watching others to see how they should react too. Or waiting to see what Cardiff City or their manager has to say about it and then judging them on whether they were emotional enough about it. I’m sure sky news will read out tweets from other footballers about it. And say if Paul Pogba or some other big name tweets about it, it means that the guys life was worthwhile. Same with actors and musicians, it’s weird. Don’t get me wrong, it’s tragic for sure, same as the Leicester crash but up until today I honestly hadn’t given that a moments thought in weeks.. and that was truly horrible how it happened. Life goes on. Sweeney and Alder obviously hit home more because that could have been any of us. But sure less than 5 years later everyone has moved on from that too. Humans are a fickle bunch.
-
That’s awful. Hope they are found and it turns out to be a good story about how he faked a plane crash to get out of signing for Cardiff.. Rio is gonna have a field day with this one. Humour aside, fingers crossed this is just a misunderstanding or something other than a tragedy.

Nolan and Taylor were decent. And yeah we’ve had some terrible forwards play for us. No matter how poor some of these are, our worst signing ever will always be Mikey Owen, the little cunt.
-
Aye but that’s not the pull is it? It’s the former title winners wanting to actually be a project that may appeal. I agree, Leicester overachieved a few years ago by unfathomable odds. But since then they have done a fairly decent job of consolidating themselves as a solid mid table team. They’ll never be as well supported as us but are easily as big as we are in terms of brand now. Rafa knows he’d get to spend 70-100m to add to some already very decent players they have. He could easily establish them as a top 6 side.
-
It’s mental that the fans ever abuse players like him, especially given what he cost. It’s not like he was a well established striker who cost 5.3 million.. He improves parts of his game bit by bit, his heading this season for example is much improved. He still takes a while to make decisions when he has the ball but crap movement around him doesn’t help either. He’s been a total value purchase, like most of our team.

The chants have been pure cringe for at least the last few years. Water off a ducks back with this cunt. Something personal including his family would get a reaction. Who did his wife shack up with when they separated?

Oh it will be spun, right back at Rafa who seems f***ing bewildered at this point how such a cretin could come into such money. Judge a man by his friends the saying goes. Dont think It will now, theres a sea change in the media, not quite a tide in our favour, but its turning. Not enough for my liking. Bishop seems to be well capable of placing any number of his boys into punditry roles. They get paid as long as they spin the lines. I’m guessing the tv networks are ultra slow to pick up on this. Which is why I was so impressed by Jake Humphrey last weekend. But he’s not a producer so ultimately it’s not his call on who they get in. Humphrey made the connection between Rio and his clothing brand being sold in Sports Direct. He did not cop the Keith Bishop part though. Until this cunt is blacklisted they will keep getting away with placing endless SD mouthpieces.

He would fit in well at West Ham, for many reasons.

My mate is adamant that shelvey is leaving this month. That’s what I’ve heard also. They’re all for sale for the right price but Shelvey hasn’t even been getting a sniff when he is fit. I wouldn’t miss him to be honest. Great passer but he doesn’t boss a midfield at all, except on a blue moon like he did against Man Utd last season. Never looks like scoring despite having all the tools to do so regularly. Just something missing from the lad (apart from brain cells)

I don’t fully believe Jimenez but there must be something to it. What a pair of cunts, literally couldn’t make this shit up.

Not the quickest alpaca you’ll ever see.

This. Poor opposition. It was tailor made for him to have a good game but he was just alright. 2 years on and I’ve seen nothing from the kid to justify even a fraction of what we paid for him.
-
I’m not bothered either way. It’s funny I used to remember thinking getting a good price for a player was so important, but with the way Ashley runs the club, it’s never returned into the squad so he may as well be sold for a fiver. Did Rafa really push for his new contract or is there something going on with the players going behind his back?
-
I don’t hate him but it was pretty poor professionalism. There were two of them in it. Rafa feels he has some sort of duty to let the club captain use his own judgement on things like this. If was clear as day that the substitution needed to happen. Why he didn’t make the call straight away is so odd.
-
There was a suggestion that he didn’t warm up properly. He doesn’t look near the player he was a year ago. I suspect he was buying into that 50m+ price tag bullshit that some people were mentioning. Once Fernandez came into the team and showed some proper leadership, well that’s his biggest tool suddenly worth less. He was never a passer of the ball like Lejeune or Schär so he quite quickly became 3rd/4th choice centre back. That shit tonight will piss Rafa off no end, even if fit I doubt Rafa will trust him any time soon.

Who’d bring a baby to a shite fucking match on a cold night? Madness
