  1. Looked confident. Made a few good saves - promising. People focus too much on Joelinton. Yes he was a poor buy, but he's not responsible for the absolutely rancid football we are watching today. He’s our most expensive player ever and he’s been shite, of course people are going to focus on him. Focus on who you like mate if it makes you feel better. Still not going to make the football any better when you've got a shower of shit in every other position. I haven’t even criticised him that much. But this is a football forum, players who don’t perform will get criticism/abuse. Obertan, Riviere, Colback. Or Joselu, who got dogs abuse. Wasn’t that bad compared to Big Joe though. 4 goals in his first season for us and cost 5m. Why would Joelinton get a free pass? Did criticising any of them have a positive effect on any of them? It's a message board to discuss football and its players ffs I get that. And I get that people like to let off steam. I don't have a problem with it. It just has little value to anything beyond the individual. Same as complaining about it. But hey if it weren't for people arguing over mundane shite, the forum wouldn't exist.

Yeah, Joselu browsed this forum the night before he scored against Liverpool. Seriously, what are you on about? Wasted energy.

  4. The PL are not a cash rich organisation either, the operation is actually quite small. This could get very tasty, especially in the current climate. One things for sure other clubs will be f***ing furious If the PL has the financial support of those other clubs they'll be alright. £10million off each of them should see them alright. Can't see many clubs happy to lose 10/20million just to keep the PL going. Would imagine if the PL lose and have a massive bill, the clubs would let them go to the wall and just set up a new league organisation...Ultra League or something along those lines Neither can I. That was a starting point. But I'm sure a scale could work. £50M a piece from Man U&C, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal would do it. How would that look though? NUFC takeover is rejected and from the ensuing court case NUFCs direct competitors from the same league pay the court fines.. Corruption tastic that like. I don't think that would happen, I just think the support is there if they think they have a case and wish to fight it. Therefore it's unlikely that the PL will just collapse at the threat of legal action.
  5. Can't believe no one picked up on this. All this talk of suing the PL out of existence seems a bit silly; there is no way an organisation with the kind of liability exposure that the PL has doesn't have extensive legal insurance. The point that they may end up being the true wielders of power is an interesting one, and not to be discounted More than likely they do, but it's never stopped a company being bankrupted by legal action. Pretty sure insurance would only cover the legal costs if they won too. Anyone who's got a car knows insureres will use any excuse to get out of paying now matter how small or irrelevant. Have a bump, but got tinted windows without telling them then your motor insurance is invalid. The PL ignoring their own rules would surely be an issue to an insurer Aye, the little man has to cover the costs of protecting the big fellas.
  6. I'd be inclined to avoid the cameras if I had a face like a burst haemorrhoid.
  7. Not to disparage Hendrick as I haven't seen enough to judge him, but if Longstaff can't compete with him, he's probably never going to be more than a squad player.
  8. I've no doubt that has a bearing but they can be mistaken. Either way they get paid.

Wouldnt be permitted by PL rules Think the PL have shown that they are quite happy to ignore their own rules when it suits them. Also the mentioned clubs would probably the most reluctant to contribute anything to save them, considering they frequently try and argue that they should get a bigger share of the broadcasting money anyway This could be a way of negotiating such a deal.

  12. Or he could just have his slot and we don't play a system reliant on a player who will be injured 80% of the time. Bruce has already mentioned we're also going to see instances where Wilson and Joelinton play together up top. There are going to be different setups this season depending on who we play I imagine, which would make a nice change. He's definitely got options to choose the right team for the right match. But then the kebab shop has options and he always plumps for the giant mixed kebab with chips.
  13. We're all well aware of how desperate the situation is, that's why we're grateful for anything that isn't shit.
  14. There is also the matter of what is revealed, that has previously been hidden, in the court proceedings. I guess there is a chance that the consortium could use some of that info to their advantage.
  15. With only the first game of the season to go upon, with 3 debutants, missing our star keeper? Yeah I would.
  16. If it was Rafa I'd be confident that Almiron being on the bench was a tactical decision, and the result would justify the decision. I'd also be confident Almiron would be picked for the next game.
  17. I would except for the selection and performance. I only saw the highlights and Rafa has put out some teams that were just as dodgy. Especially early on in the season. If we'd got a draw away to West Ham, on the opening day of the season we would have been happy.
  18. Options is the key word. The question being whether Bruce knows how to utilise those options. Keeping Miggy, ASM and Wilson fit for the home game against Brighton should be proven to be inspired.
  19. I've got to hold my hands up. If Rafa was still in charge, I'd be [with hindsight]delighted with that team selection, performance and result.
  20. Howe would be a disaster. They need the exact opposite of Moyes, some who is a presence, can lead and motivate the players. Howe doesn’t have enough of that, and really needs time. Hope the go for pardew I was just thinking about something similar. People seem to believe Moyes has a presence, when in reality his only success was when he was a nobody at Everton.
  21. Thought Joel did fine coming on as sub, which is where I think he should have started last season. We still have Gayle when he gets back from injury as well so we are not that bad tbh, if we can juggle the fitness issues right. Joelinton might have a bit more joy playing alongside or just off Wilson. He hardly helped himself last season but it also didn’t help that we’d play the wide men about 30-40 yards away from him, with his back to goal in his first season here. Might play a role this season. Yeah. With Wilson attacking the box it gives Joelinton the opportunity to do something different. Or rather it isn't as damaging if he continues to do the same as he always has.
