    Match Atmosphere

I kinda admire your commitment to this, but it is utterly pointless expecting a major PL club revert back to a situation where people are sleeping outside the stadium to queue up to get in. For a start I very much doubt the local SAG (or whoever the fuck does all the safety box ticking these days) would allow it. The club would have to policing the queue for however long, so that’s hardly something they’d be keen on. Having said that, maybe a new stadium would allow something of this ilk but on a much, much smaller scale to what you’ve outlined.

    Alexander Isak

You’ve got to mix it up though. You can’t just go down the middle all the time or after the first few the keepers will just start standing still. Next pen Isak gets he needs to drop the stutter-step. Keeper will be expecting it so won’t go early. Run up and side foot it in the corner. Keeper won’t react in time. Job’s a good un.

Stuart Pearce was in Wings yesterday.
  4. Today was for your grandad @Ghandis Flip-Flop 👊
  5. I think we can play one way at Anfield (e.g Arsenal) and another way in the final. Until today these had looked susceptible. Can’t dispute great win today. Hope they are as focussed for PSG…
  6. Whilst I’m not gonna dispute any of that, if you think that’s the thought process of the majority of the youth in our fanbase when they tell Forest they are scabs, I think you’re probably giving too much credit to how far genuine local historical knowledge filters down. And that’s not even a dig at the youngsters, they’re just going to the match and joining in what they’ve heard, most likely fairly ignorant of the origins of it. But that’s OK. Better than them just being on their phones…
  7. Yes, so for you it’s probably understandable. But when there’s a couple of 17 year old Newcastle fans telling some 17 year old Forest fans they are ‘scabs’, it’s not quite the same. I should point out I’m not necessarily against generational vendetta-holding by any set of fans. To quote our antipodean friend, “it’s who we are, mate”.
  8. And there is nothing that football fans do better than holding a vendetta against opposing fans for something than happened a generation ago, often before they were born.
  9. No, but when asked if there were any new injuries he said “not that I can think of”. Which at the time immediately felt a bit iffy to me. We’ll see like, but if Tonali is out then I’m definitely watching too much Eddie.

Well, sort of. It’s obviously a good thing to keep prices low, but when you’re doing it out necessity, rather than for the greater good, I’m not sure it’s to be applauded.
  11. Well it might not be quite as big a number as people expect. You had to apply for at least one of the cup games, and there will be a lot of members who can’t do midweek games for whatever reason. Obviously still huge numbers compared to available tickets unfortunately.
  12. Anyone know how it’s gonna work if a parent and child are successful in Pot 6 but there’s not two left together when they come to select the seats?

  14. If it’s as random as the club make out, it should have absolutely no bearing. Impossible to determine without knowing the inner workings of the ballot though.

    Injured. Enzo Le SOFT CUNT.
  16. That’s what everybody says about the membership scheme isn’t it? That it’s too easy for touts to exploit? Obviously the vast majority of members are proper fans, but winning this ballot is the jackpot for touts. I’d guess/hope if the tickets left are ~1000 and there’s tens of thousands applying, most will end up with the proper fans, but as I say, it’s the jackpot ballot for the touts.
  17. Be interesting to see if more tickets suddenly appear on the resale market next week.

Whilst in some ways it’s commendable (and sensible) to try and get youngsters to attend games, anyone that’s attended pre-season games or early round cup games (before the cup scheme…) will know that it does nothing for the atmosphere. Well, it kinda does create ‘noise’ but not necessarily a particularly intimidating one. Still, probably better than empty seats…

    The Other 18

If Villa get past Bruges if the CL the second leg of their QF (v PSG or Liverpool) will be the midweek before we play them. We play Palace in that rearranged game that midweek.

    St James' Park

That is a valid point. For all the talk of ‘hitting the sweet spot’ where you have a big crowd but still have demand (slightly) outstripping supply, we’re already at that capacity near enough.
  21. That’s at home isn’t it? The away leg is the midweek before.
