Wonder what happens with Pope if a new keeper comes in? Presume that would be him done if Dubs is staying?

Never see Martinez doing this do you, the fraud.

I can see how their matchday revenue would be higher. As you say, London, and I’d assume there’s more corporate at the Emirates than at Anfield (even after the redevelopment). But surely Liverpool are ahead in other aspects? Their global fanbase is probably only behind Man Utd, Madrid and Barca? Will be bigger than Arsenal’s anyway. And therefore does that not allow them to get bigger and better sponsorship deals? The other stuff like player sales and CL money is a little bit cyclical, and may vary between time periods as to who is doing better.

Why more than Liverpool?

A fair bit less than that, although I’m not sure the actual amount is public knowledge. Media reports said Brighton initially wanted £5m but ‘a deal was struck’.

Surely them just winning 7-0 distorts it back the other way?

The club could have saved a lot of anxiety and guesswork by just releasing the numbers in Pots 1-5. I know they’re anal about membership numbers being ‘sensitive information’ so they could have kept Pot 6 numbers to themselves. Releasing the 1-5 numbers surely wouldn’t have been sensitive to any degree?

Is it still all Rashford’s fault?

Nunez has plenty of excellent physical attributes. But he always looks like someone that started playing football 10 months ago.

Do they have the fanbase to sell 62k every game? Obviously, they might well do if they started challenging towards the top end of the league, but if they remained similar to what they are now? I suppose they probably do. Most established PL teams do nowadays. West Ham don’t have much bother filling their stadium (although often not for the full 90…) but that is London.

That Toloi red for Atalanta was utterly sensational. One of the best head losses I’ve seen.

My issue wouldn’t be so much the loss of value, although that’s hardly ideal, it’s more that you put yourself in a constant state of flux if you’re repeatedly having to replace players. Our recruitment has been great overall, and maybe we could just replace someone like that the next season fairly seamlessly. But it’s putting even more pressure on to hardly ever make a mistake in the market. Plus I don’t think Eddie’s management style aligns with that. He wants to work with a player continuously and improve them season on season. You can still tell how gutted he is about Anderson every time he speaks about him.

Maybe, but it seems he chose Bournemouth because they agreed to a release clause. That’s a fair enough approach if you’re Bournemouth, but for where we want to be, we can’t be doing that* *unless the release clause is massive, like Bruno’s was

It’s probably unnecessary to be giving efl clubs tickets, but if they’re getting 12 each and there’s 72 of them, that’d be another 432 for each club in the final. Obviously better than nowt, but it wouldn’t really make much of a dent in the demand. Not that this is going to make anyone without a ticket feel better, but my mate knows a pro referee (not Oliver) and has managed to source a ticket off him as all refs are given four tickets for the final.

Not required given Osula will be a clone of Nunez in a season or two.

It’s maybe hard to tell when it’s empty? A lot has been made of the steep-sided stands so it feels like the crowd are on top of the players, so might seem different when you are there, or even just seeing it full on TV. Or it might be shite.
