Best of luck with that. Liverpool will likely win the league then spend £200m+ Arsenal will surely buy a proper elite striker (unfortunately one inferior to Isak but hey ho) As well as Man City and Chelsea continuing to chuck millions and billions at it. That’s before considering Man Utd and/or Spurs might stop being shite (alright that’s an iffy one). To finish above ALL of them would bordering on the impossible.

To Burnley. On penalties. After Trafford saves 5 out of 5.

Unless they’ve tarted it up in recent times (that is a possibility tbf) it was just a slightly poorer version of the Platinum Club.

Does he count as home grown for PL purposes?

Probably, but given the technology seemingly widely available, it shouldn’t really be so piss easy to pass a ticket on. Just forwarding the email being the ‘workaround’ is ridiculous.

Playing devils advocate - the biggest complaint against Ashley was that he never allowed the club to strive to be the best it could be. You can see how that accusation could be levelled at Levy. It’s all relative, but you can at least see the argument.

‘Deserve’ might be a bit of an emotive word admittedly. If they’re still there at the end of the season, you can hardly say they don’t ’deserve’ it. But I don’t think any of us would say they are one of the best five teams in the league if we were asked.

Statistically speaking, he’s right. They’ve won a lot of games where they’ve faced a lot more shots, lost the xG etc etc. Now you can say that’s partly down to their style of play, and I think the manager deserves a ton of credit for making them as effective as they have been. But it’s very difficult to maintain the level of success they have had, whilst playing like this. I wouldn’t say it’s impossible to do it across an entire season, to an extent we did it under Pardew, for example. But if they want to continually be up in the top 5, they’d have to evolve and play, at least a slightly, different style. Don’t think they’re in any way comparable to Bournemouth, who tend to ‘deserve’ to win the games they do, statistically speaking.

Hence the cancellation of a game last season (I think) when the trains were on strike.

Make every one with a ticket watch the ‘Owen return’ clip for an hour before ko.

Maybe the slightest tad harsh? However, fully behind making him feel like he is when he rocks up next month.

Not what Eddie said yesterday like, not that you can ever fully trust his injury updates…

You’re right in that Osula was definitely encouraging against Birmingham, but surely no-one would look at a decent/good performance against League One opposition and think he needs to be playing ahead of a bloke that’s scored 10 goals in under two seasons? Having said that, if the change we were making in the game was to RW, there’s more of an argument. Although I’d still almost certainly just shift Gordon over and get Barnes on.
-
Of course. Barnes has significantly impacted a number of games off the bench for us. As yet, Osula hasn’t impacted one (off the bench), albeit he has had far more limited opportunity.

Ndiaye knackered for a few weeks at least with medial knee ligament.
