They’re bang in trouble if they haven’t managed to substantially reduce their wages to turnover ratio this season.
-
Indeed, so like I say he’s more likely to be a Hall than a Bruno. That’s not not to say he might not have been a great signing but everything’s about weighing the risk of what you’re getting against the impact of your PSR position. Clearly we decided that short-term it wasn’t worth it (although possibly all mute anyway if Man City were always sniffing around).
-
What you have to ask yourself is, do you think someone like this Brazilian kid would have enough of an immediate impact between now and the end of the season to justify weakening our summer position in return for that impact? Maybe he would, maybe he wouldn’t - I’d be inclined to lean towards the latter - so they decided not to pull the trigger. However, I don’t doubt if something happened to Isak, or someone we felt confident would have an immediate impact became available, we could slap £30m down tomorrow.

They still look seriously susceptible away from home like. Not sure the new signings will put an immediate fix to that. Have to admit they do look much better at home though. Which doesn’t bode well for a couple of weeks time.

According to that chart I posted yesterday, their wages to turnover ratio last season was 96%, so they’re going to be massively hamstrung by that unless they’ve been able to significantly reduce it.

Fair enough. Obviously not quite the same blatant tactics as TalkSport, but the principle is the same I suppose. And no doubt it won’t do O’Hara’s brand any harm.
-
*disclaimer I haven’t heard it yet* That’s TalkSport though, that’s the modus operandi. Whether positive or negative, just make sure it’s OTT and will attract attention/views. He may well have made some absolutely valid points, but I guarantee it will be whacked up on SM along the lines of ‘Listen to O’Hara’s EPIC rant on Ange Postecoglou’, it will get loads of interactions, and he will have done his job regardless of how appropriate and well made his points are.

Will be balanced out to a degree by Gordon’s new contract.

Managed to get our wages to turnover ratio down a bit looking at this (looks grim for Villa without knowing any context):
-
Just not as good as everyone had hoped really.
-
Yep, it doesn’t add to the atmosphere if it becomes the atmosphere.

Love the Southampton number 26 on the goal. Completely lets him run off him then points for someone to do something about it when he’s about 10 yards clear 😂
-
Sky flashed it up during the Man City game, best in the league.
-
Now level with Ljungberg for most PL goals by a Swede. Be interesting to know if this, or when he passes him, gets much attention in Sweden? @Nobody

Not relevant for red cards.

Dunno like, I think it will be.
-
If he gets a three match ban, which I presume he will, then yes.
-
Aye, I think he’s unlucky in that he’s just wanted to bring him down rather than rake his studs down him, but that’s what he’s actually done, and with zero attempt to play the ball, so fair enough.
