I’m not sure he is behind Miley tbh. He looks very, very good from what I’ve seen. Obviously, you wouldn’t go spending significant money for him to come a take Miley’s spot like. But I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re both in the England team in 5 years time.

Don’t think there’s anything poor about him tbh, he’s arguably been Spurs best player this season, which is quite an achievement for a teenager (it’s his 20th birthday today apparently). Whether it would be a wise use of resources given the more pressing needs in other areas, is a valid concern like, but if he ever did end up here, I reckon Eddie would have him in an England squad within two seasons.

As others have said, he’s looked shite for Spurs this season. Although if there was a situation with extenuating circumstances… Also, he is very young like. And if Spurs only wanted their money back, ~£30m isn’t loads in the current market.

Suspect we’ll offer him an improved contract in the summer. I hope we do anyway. Seems like he’s got three years left and is on average money (by PL standards). Give him a significant bump and get another three years whacked on top.

Agreed, but I’m more referring to the anticipation ahead of tonight versus the anticipation ahead of the first leg v Man City. Obviously that’s maybe as much to do with the opposition rather than the actual relevance of the game itself.
