    Match Atmosphere

I was in the standing area there and can’t say I witnessed any of that. Not to say it definitely didn’t happen mind.

    Match Atmosphere

The thing is I would imagine when you buy a ticket for the Strawberry Corner it’s actually labelled ’safe standing’, so you can’t say you didn’t know what you were getting. I bet the first some of the folk who buy tickets in this area know about it being safe standing is when they walk out of the concourse. Aye, people should check pre-match, especially if they aren’t regular match attendees, but as a club, take the emphasis away from them and be pro-active.

    Match Atmosphere

Problem comes when the person directly in front wants to stand, and they can’t see anything…
  4. Worth remembering that although Isak didn’t score the night of the class tribute to him against West Ham, and he came off after 20 mins of the next game against Palace, his ridiculous run of goals has basically started from that point…
  5. Ridiculous that Burnley have only conceded 9 in 27 and still manage to not be top of the league.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Maybe, but first argument is a canny bad one…

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Well that’s a different argument isn’t it? If you want to say you think he doesn’t score enough goals and generally isn’t good enough, I can at least see where you’re coming from. However, if you’re saying his fitness record isn’t good enough, I’d disagree and say for the last season and a half it’s been better than virtually everyone in our squad bar maybe Bruno and Gordon (off the top of my head).

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Missed 4 PL games since the start of last season.
  9. They’ve only moved it by about 15 mins…
  10. Yep, very good as these type of things go. Would be better if they’d just wear some make-up like…

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

It’s not insane to point out his injury record is actually OK, very good in recent times, if someone’s saying he’s a crock.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I’ve said before I like DCL. Mainly because he would offer us a versatility that we don’t currently have in our attacking play. Perhaps more from a defensive side when defending a lead a looking for an ‘out’ ball by just knocking it for someone to hold up. Obviously his aerial ability is a major strength too. No question his confidence in front of goal is absolutely shot at present though and would need some rebuilding. He’s been well and truly ‘Evertoned’ at this point. In near enough the best part of the last 20 seasons, I think there’s only him and Lukaku managed 15+ PL goals in a season for them. Also good to see others pointing out him being a ‘crock’ is a myth.
  13. Semenyo definitely. Kluivert I don’t particularly rate. Hasn’t scored a goal from open play this season.
  14. Just for clarity, Howe has lost once against Bournemouth as Newcastle manager, and that was last November when we virtually ran out of players. If you include the cup win, his record is 1-4-1, so not as bad as made out. The main issue has been that our performances against them, and the matches in general, have been fairly piss poor.
  15. Take your point, but tbf Mbeumo passes the eye test as well. You just have to watch a Brentford game to see he’s generally one of the most threatening players on show. That much was evident at the end of the cup game at our place, where they went from looking virtually toothless, to quite dangerous as soon as he came on. You watch a Forest game, and whilst you might appreciate the work Wood puts in for team, you don’t really think he looks that much of a threat until he scores.
  16. So if you sign someone for £20m on 5 year deal, amortise at £4m per year, for the first four years, before they sign a new 4 year contract, you’d have amortised £18m of the original £20m, if you sold with two years remaining?

    Alexander Isak

Isak also has two functioning legs, which Shearer did not in the latter part of his time here, maybe even longer. Truth is we only got one season of absolute peak Shearer, and people (understandably) don’t judge him off that. His first season here, in partnership with Ferdinand, he was phenomenal. Felt an almost certainty he would score when we played at home. One of the best thing’s about having Isak now is that we are hopefully going to get the equivalent of Shearer’s 3 seasons at Blackburn and his first season here.
  18. If Barnes is out for a month he probably misses another 3/4 PL games. That’s nowhere near enough to necessitate us replacing this window, if we’re not convinced the right player is available.

    Alexander Isak

Moved level with Beardo tonight for most PL goals for us. One behind Wilson.
  20. Would be extremely harsh on Schar, but we defended superbly at Spurs and Arsenal.
