Aye, I know, but how many of the others do that? All of the others miss matches at some point during the season, and fair enough cos it’s a job, and I’m sure they put family and other stuff before it. Not RyDog though. You get the feeling it’s his life.
-
One of Eddie’s most repeated phrases in his pressers is “what do you mean by that Lee?” Although I should say, which I have plenty of times before, whilst you sometimes wonder whether English is Ryder’s first language, and some of his Chronicle stuff appears to be written directly for simpletons, you cannot question his commitment. Never misses a match, and Downie referenced him in one of his videos this week, saying he told him he got back from Baku at 9pm on Thursday night, then was at the training ground at 8am Friday for Eddie’s presser.
-
They’re going to be in a lot more difficult position now though.
-
Does he not mean what he would have to say on it is “nothing important”, rather than the incident itself is/was “nothing important”? Given that video is from Marca, and he’s obviously Barcelona, I’d be wary of how they are trying to portray what he said.
-
I think at present a purchase of £45m+ by anyone is wishful thinking. We need to get him fit and contributing.
-
Not if it’s a non-PIF club, as was the case with ASM.
-
We actually had more possession than them in the second half (52-48). Not that it really means anything in isolation, but it’s got to be the first time that’s been the case over a full half down there?
-
Fair enough. However it still seems odd that choose to specifically watch the games that feature something which you know is going to annoy you 🤣
-
If you wanted to be especially harsh you could say it was a second yellow for Dias (obv it wasn’t like).
-
Seems an odd choice of match to decide to watch it after given the multitude of far more enjoyable matches you could have watched it after over the last few years?
-
He’s actually right though.
-
The random guy is a BBC journo who is widely regarded as a bit of an aficionado on the rules of the game. Hence Edwards tagging him to ask the question about that specific rule.
-
Nah, that’s inaccurate.
-
Sore back. Eddie said post-match he hopes he’s available for Tuesday but not 100% sure.
-
Post-match. Edwards asked Howe about did he know the rule around the push for the Burn goal and would they be seeking clarification on it. Howe said something like “no I didn’t so you taught me something there”. Edwards then made a jokey quip saying “not for the first time”, which didn’t really land with Howe or anyone else, and that was that.
-
Yes. Didn’t seem anything out of the ordinary? Assuming you’re talking about when he asked his question?
-
Don’t think he flagged til after did he? In which case they can. But like I say, best we’re getting out of it is another free kick.
-
Perhaps, well maybe more than perhaps. But ultimately the best we could have got out of it would be a retaking of the free kick, so although it kinda feels like we’ve been massively hard done to, it probably isn’t/wasn’t that significant.
-
I suppose he could have done, yes. Assuming he saw it like. Very difficult, bordering on impossible, to see everything that goes on at a set piece.
-
He pushed him before we took the free-kick so they can’t really give a pen. It does seem somewhat unfair like, but ultimately it’s clever defending from Dias as the outcome is only ever going to be an offside.
