Got beat 5-1 and Given put in one of the best goalkeeping performances I can remember for us. So much so than when he came out a few minutes earlier than the rest of the team for the second half to warm up (presumably because the rest were still getting bollocked), a bloke behind me said “same formation as the first half then”.

Van Dijk gets sent off against Man City and we’re laughing.
  3. They’re referring to all rounds, not just the 3rd round.

    On this day...

Reminds me why I said at the time, that idiotic decision cost us a result that would have gone down in the Top 10 results in NUFC history.
  5. Yeah, that was brought up as the main issue with it when they introduced it. Not sure, but don’t think there’s an expiry on when you have to use them, so presumably be good for next season if need be.
  6. They have to justify the extra tenner somehow
  7. It’s obviously not ideal, but as long as you weren’t planning to go as a one off, you’ll be able to get to another game for ‘free’.

Whoever the team, wherever the ground, that’s really the key to getting a consistently good atmosphere.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Indeed. Bruno is probably at peak valuation now. Maybe one more season at a push before his value starts heading downwards. Would it be wise to sell him? Questionable.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Only got one year left on his contract come the summer, so they’ll not be able to get big money.

  12. Aye, changed it at the start of the season.
  13. Yeah, as @Wallsendmag mentioned, things happening the day of the game, especially last minute, really does create an issue to prevent the ticket just going unused now. Make sure you don’t just accept this though. If you can find the appropriate channels to go through and you get to speak to someone reasonable at the Box Office (there are some…), they should hopefully view things a bit more sensibly.
  14. Clearly, the consequences are hugely disproportionate to what has actually taken place. Hopefully you get to speak them and they reduce the ‘punishment’ (I’d suggest it’s worth going the Trust if you’re a member). I do kind of understand why they have these draconian type punishments as the default though. We want them to reduce touting, so if someone is found to be selling a ticket on when they should be returning to the Box Office, we want that discouraged (appreciating the fact you can’t return if it’s close to the match). Anyway, best of luck, and for future reference (someone will need to confirm this) can you not just delete the ticket out of the original wallet and forward the email to the person you’re giving the ticket to so they can download?
  15. The whole point of having people like him on Talksport is to say something controversial/inflammatory to drive interaction through people being aggravated by what’s being said. The best response is to just ignore. They hate that. As you said, irrelevant.

    Match Atmosphere

Any idea how they determined who got them? I’m assuming the demand massively outweighed the number made available?
  17. Would be more than happy to take those results tbh. Obviously be a shame to see the demise of @HaydnNUFC, but he’s not even contributing the YouTube match build up threads now, so…

    Match Atmosphere

It’s clearly an issue amongst all major clubs in this country. Certainly is at Liverpool. Obviously no easy fix. Can’t very well start issuing a ‘cull’ of ST holders over X age, and demand completely outstripping supply everywhere makes it difficult to make any kind of commercial case for issuing new ST tickets to younger fans. Would probably need one of the big clubs to move to a new stadium that significantly increased capacity (so realistically that’s us, Chelsea, Villa or maybe Man Utd) and decide ‘right, we’re issuing 5k new ST’s to fans U25’. Wouldn’t be good for PSR, would be a nightmare to administer the logistics of picking who gets one and probably gets loads of criticism from everyone above 25. Anyone know if Spurs issues any new ST’s when they moved?

Just seen the pricing for West Ham’s home game with Liverpool. Canny shambolic: https://x.com/westhamhelp/status/1861036621891600504?s=46&t=OQLMckSuatbpqWF13Al4mQ

Yes, from an individual club supporter perspective, it isn’t our problem. Personally, I don’t watch non-league, so am I particularly bothered how any of the clubs are getting on, not really. But equally, I don’t think just taking the attitude of ‘fuck them’ helps in the grander scheme. We could take that attitude with the payments the PL are supposed to filter down to the EFL and beyond, and where would we end up? You’re right thought that there has to be a better situation than the current mess, I just don’t know what it is.

That’s a fair point. It’s difficult to really say what the actual impact would be on attendances lower down until you actually did it I suppose. In that Orient v Southend example, it’s probably high enough up the pyramid that losing between 50-200 off the gate isn’t going to cause a massive issue. Go 4/5 levels down and maybe it does.
