Perhaps, yes, but that’s a different discussion. If you’re a PL referee, you have to accept that you’re held to certain (very high) standard of behaviour, relating to directly to football matters anyway, almost regardless of how poorly a manager, player or whoever has behaved. Not really very fair, but that’s just the way it is.

It’s not about whether he holds negative opinions, it’s about the fact that he’s voiced them publicly (unwittingly or otherwise). He’s placed himself in an untenable position in terms of refereeing their games, or any game that impacts them, and as a result he’ll have to get booted.

I think if a decision had been definitely made it would have been leaked, if not announced.

As a referee, you can’t be abusing managers (irrespective of whether the subject is actually a prick or not). Puts you in an impossible position in terms of reffing that club again. Even the tiniest error against that team then gets magnified 1000 times and it becomes untenable. If that video is genuine he’ll have to get booted.

Yep, probably my favourite away day in recent memory. There’s something about being not very good and scraping out a 1-0 win on the road, probably against expectations, that is difficult to describe how good it feels. I compare this game to the Fulham game at the start of the season after where they had someone sent off early and we annihilated them 4-1. It’s was a lovely day, easy win, sun shining, had a good sing song etc. But give me the tense, edginess, and ultimate euphoria of that Leeds day, any day of the week.

Finished watching this and ultimately was left with a feeling of sadness relating to his NUFC career. Obviously he made some stupid decisions when he was here, but how much of that was related to his issues in his childhood, who knows. On top of all the injuries, you’re just left feeling he really could have become a club legend if things had been different, and it wasn’t necessarily (all) his fault.

Imagine about this time last year thinking this would be where he was at. As ever, Eddie knows best.
