And whether you think that was gained with a huge amount of fortune on our side or not, he still achieved it. Bruce’s best achievement whilst here was managing not to be McClaren levels of shit. The off the field stuff, I’m not sure you could really say one was particularly worse than the other.

Not sure, if you win a trophy that you haven’t really contributed to, have you really won it? I guess it probably depends on your mentality, and also your standing within the squad. For example, John Ruddy, didn’t play for us last season (and probably didn’t get a medal?), but he appeared to do the job that was required of him, so if that was me, I’d feel like I’d contributed to winning the trophy. If you’re a £130m striker that has been brought in to be the top dog and score loads of goals, and you don’t get anywhere near delivering that, I’m not sure you’d get the same satisfaction out of a trophy win, even if you got a medal.
