Whilst I’m loathe to come on here and actually defend him, he did have a manager of the season award whilst here. And whether you think that was gained with a huge amount of fortune on our side or not, he still achieved it. Bruce’s best achievement whilst here was managing not to be McClaren levels of shit. The off the field stuff, I’m not sure you could really say one was particularly worse than the other.

Inaki Williams confirmed out for a few weeks so will miss our game. The lad that took over as captain (Lekue) also went off injured today.

The pitches don’t tend to look particularly ‘optimal’ like.

See Burton at home in the Championship, with the Ritchie pen debacle.

Should be a good atmosphere agreed, but Sheff Wed just haven’t got the players. Oxford no great shakes either like, but it would be one I’d stay away from.

In the squad at least.
-
Potentially. Probably depends how observant/arsed the turnstile operator is.

Didn’t realise how much they were struggling with injuries - Robinson, Andersen, Lukic, Chukwueze and Muniz out, with Cairney doubtful. That’s a pretty decent chunk of their better players.

They are. Every one is an absolute masterclass in emotional intelligence.

That might be pushing it a bit like, he was on £25k p/w. So maybe not enough to set his kids up for life, but I don’t think he would ever have an issue ‘feeding them’.

Journo’s (Hope in particular, surprise, surprise) absolutely desperate to get Eddie to go back at Slot in his presser this morning. As usual, he just smiled and gave them fuck all in way of headlines.

I think they’ve basically just shelved anything to do with safe standing until there’s an announcement on what’s happening with the stadium / expansion.

£130m once his groin starts falling to bits.

Was two yellows so probably not.

Not sure, if you win a trophy that you haven’t really contributed to, have you really won it? I guess it probably depends on your mentality, and also your standing within the squad. For example, John Ruddy, didn’t play for us last season (and probably didn’t get a medal?), but he appeared to do the job that was required of him, so if that was me, I’d feel like I’d contributed to winning the trophy. If you’re a £130m striker that has been brought in to be the top dog and score loads of goals, and you don’t get anywhere near delivering that, I’m not sure you’d get the same satisfaction out of a trophy win, even if you got a medal.

Aye, I can’t see it personally, but you can see the logic if you’re being optimistic.

Probably be allowed to play. Under the rules, the AFCON teams could call all their players up before then, but going off previous seasons, they’ve left it until a week before, so that weekend’s set of fixtures will probably be the last ones before they all head off.
