Really excellent today, penalty aside, I thought. When he came back last year, he was alright, but a bit meh, like many of his early games for us. Looked like he’d stepped up a level today and looked by far Forest’s best player (maybe alongside MGW, albeit he had a lot less influence).

Exactly like Bruno, does he have an all-round game that makes him absolutely world-level elite? Probably not. He does have some attributes (mainly close control) that fall into that category. However, like Bruno, his mentality appears to be ‘it’. And that is will what will elevate him to the very top.

If we’re not getting ahead of ourselves you might want to reconsider your assertion that they’ll finish above Man Utd…
-
As pathetic as Amorim’s results have been, I can’t see him being allowed to stay long enough if there’s a danger of them finishing low enough to finish below the mackems. Would also be very surprised if they (mackems) got anything today, but that is the more realistic possibility of the two.

So it seems. €80m, which probably makes it feasible, if unlikely.
-
And the fact he’s still got 7 years left on his contract, doesn’t scream he’s available any time soon.

They’ve just announced the ballot opens 12pm Monday.

Nah, friendlies, yeah, but not qualifying matches.

We would most definitely be if we started attempting to ban players from going to major international tournaments if they were fit to play. We’ve got to accept that whilst none of us give a shiny shite about how the likes of DR Congo get on in the AFCON, players like Wissa are absolutely desperate to participate. So unless there’s a genuine medical reason why they can’t play, we just have to suck it up.

If we want to completely piss him off and make ourselves look like a massive bunch of cunts, sure.

Dewsbury-Hall getting a yellow card ban after 6 games is impressive work. Not quite Perchino, but still.

Is that really a metric that the Biggest Team in the World™️ should be using? Anyway, why’s this Belgian kid not playing yet? I realise he’s young, and it’s always hard for a young keeper blah blah, but if he isn’t already better than Bayindir, he’s shite, and you’ve wasted yet more money.

‘Verticality’ is a new one on me.

Only because Wilson was injured. Once he was back and they were both fit (admittedly that was often intermittently) it took Isak a good while to establish himself as unquestionable first choice.

The biggest issue (well, alright, maybe not the biggest, but a main one) is that the regulation around bookmakers is absolutely pathetic. They get away with murder. Constantly telling us how much they’re doing to try and combat problem gambling, and how difficult it is to identify. Yet they can seemingly identify ‘winning’ punters at the drop of a hat, and quickly limit them to pennies. And as I’ve said, it’s questionable whether online casino’s and ‘games’ should exist at all, given they’re completely rigged.

Well, aye, but you can say that about anything really, drinking, gaming, even eating to an extent. I accept, gambling is probably a lot more addictive than many things, but certainly not drugs. And you can also do it legally.

Give him all week to prepare the team, then sack him today. Brilliant. *aye, they don’t play til Monday, but point stands.

Whenever the new SD tips up, first thing on his to-do list is to sort Tonali a new contract. In theory, we shouldn’t have to break our wage structure, as putting him on a similar level to Bruno would still be a reasonable rise. Appreciate, that if other clubs are getting stuck into his agent saying ‘we’d give him £250k’ , that might make things more difficult.

Forest have yet to get remotely close to us, truth be told. Yes, obviously they were (very) close to us in terms of league position last season, but the way they played felt unsustainable at that level. I suspected bottom half for them this season, and obviously how things have started have only increased my belief in this.
-
I actually thought along those lines when I perused the Bradford forum after the game and listened to their managers post-match interview. Whilst, like any set of fans, they had some level of gripes and certain things their own team had done, but the general consensus was ‘they were just miles too good for us’. And they themselves are hardly a non-league team, they may be in the Championship next season. Amongst all the noise that comes with football these days, it’s sometimes nice to remember we’re actually a watching an extremely high-level team every week, regardless of individual match performances.

Tbf, it’s also just numbers. Who are two most supported teams in the country? Man Utd and Liverpool. Which two teams generally infiltrate our home end most? Man Utd and Liverpool.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Hope he goes on strike.
