  1. Bring David Batty back from retirement then!!!? Best DM ever imo. He was immense ?
  2. Manquillo has actually been ok the last few times he’s played RB, definitely think that’s been overlooked a little bit. He’s a poor player though, and Yedlin is only marginally better IMO.
  3. I’d say he’s a player with decent ability but a shite attitude. That makes him a poor player IMO.
  4. The “we cannot send him” bit i’d imagine.
  5. He’ll still be eligible for the U21s won’t he? Surely he deserves a call up.
  6. Really poor. We made 1 signing that should’ve been made in the summer, got a left back on loan that should’ve been permanent and made in the summer also. We didn’t address the Hayden issue, or the fact our RWB isn’t up to scratch, and we’re a Rondon injury away from disaster. Piss poor.
  7. I told one on facebook they weren't mutually exclusive positions, he then proceeded to misunderstand, misspell and misuse the term mutually exclusive on other points. Your mistake there was using logic, reason, and words with more than 5 letters in. You might aswell have been reading Shakespeare to a dog.
  8. Good times will only return when Ashley has gone, and I assume most fans will request a new season ticket once he's left. Maybe not.Once folk wander away it'll be one a chore to come back. Some of my mates sit in the local and watch every match home and away and I can't even give them a ticket to attend. A lot will say "I'll be back when...." But they won't. I get the impression you might not sell the matchday experience to them very well.
  9. He wasn’t like, he was utter dogshit and and should’ve been shipped out about 10 years before he actually was.
  10. If the likes of him and Amanda are wrapping then no one can really use it as an excuse.
  11. Loyalty points only come into play for 3 or 4 away games though so it's a strange thing to spend £600 on. Aye, i’ve said this before. The only scenarios where you’re gona need loads of loyalty points are - - Derby matches. (Our recent record in them is abysmal and our next meeting with them is likely to be in the Championship anyway) - European games ( ) - Cup finals/Semi Finals (even bigger ) - Cup ties against clubs with a really small ground so we would only get a small allocation. (This one is fair enough as it’s great to visit new grounds, only happens once every couple of years though.) So although it’s annoying losing all the points you’ve built up, you’re not actually missing out on much in the grand scheme of things. It’s a hit you’ve just got to take.
  12. Excellent to see these people taking a difficult but absolutely neccessary decision. I did the same myself a few years ago and i was gutted at first, but you’ll never question whether you made the right decision i guarantee it ?
  13. I’m not convinced we’ll sign anyone at all. We’ve left it til late in the window then can’t even loan a guy who’s been injured and only started 1 game all season. It all points to the fact that we don’t really want to sign anyone. Probably just another time-wasting, “we tried” excercise.
  14. I think it's a double edged sword for Ashley, while he hates Rafa causing him problems, at the same time he must know that when he reverts to the yes man hiring policy, it will probably end up costing him a lot more money with poor signings and relegation. He'll be worried about relegation next year, but at the same time probably glad to see the back of Rafa and his pesky ambition. It’s not just Rafa’s ambition that Ashley hates. Fatboy can’t stand anyone who is loved by the fans and makes sure they all leave at some point. Keegan, Shearer, Hughton, Carroll, Nolan etc etc. He must cry himself to sleep that our fans sing Rafa’s name and fly flags with his name on while the only mention he gets is when we tell him to fuck off and call him fat. Definitely. He'd probably prefer to risk relegation than continue to be the villain while Rafa is seen as a hero. He really is a thin skinned cunt in reality. Aye he’s pathetic.

  16. His goal record at his previous club was decent tbf. Aye he scored goals in the Champions League against some big sides IIRC. That Gothenburg side was pretty decent and had Jesper Blomqvist in it aswell. Him and Andersson were the standout players.
  17. Didn’t he make something like 4 appearances? Not saying he wasn’t poor in those games but it’s not really a decent size window to call someone our worst striker ever surely?
  18. Aye strange one. They’re 8th but only 2 sides in the division have scored less than them so it could be difficult for a young striker to flourish? Good luck to him anyway ?
  19. I think we've been pretty lucky with keepers over the years. Given seems to have been underated more and more as time goes on. He was absolutely class for ages like. There wasn't many better than him in the league during his time here. Harper was more than competent too, very lucky to have him as a backup. Krul was good for the majority of his time, though sadly went off the boil later and now Dubravka is very good. The last few years of Sels, Darlow, Elliot has been a bit of an anomaly. I understand there is a lot of nostalgia with Srnicek, I never seen him play in his first spell but reading behind the lines, he was largely inferior to his rivals at the time and a blatant weak link in the best of the 90's sides that we had. Aye that’s spot on. Pav was a canny keeper but he was a level below what we needed. I’ve always said Schmeichel was the difference between us winning the league and not winning the league. If we’d had David Seaman or Tim Flowers i think we could’ve won it comfortably in ‘96.
  20. I like his celebration. He’s basically saying, “i’m not listening” -which is exactly what a player needs to do when he’s getting stick from fans, good for him!? I’m just happy he’s scoring again, he can celebrate however he likes IMO.
