Rose looked like a purely defensive full back to me, showed very little inclination to get forward, and I don't think that was just down to fitness. I thought he was a good defender mind. Rose was really disappointing for us like given he was such a good player at Spurs 2-3 years ago. Not sure what's gone on but such a decline for a very talented footballer. Pleased we're looking at other options instead of bringing him in permanently which I thought we would.

He'd be on the bench at a better team that us though, think it's a good move for his development playing in the PL and being a guaranteed starter due to the lack of competition we have in his position. If he's as good as his potential suggests, he'll only be here 2 seasons max anyway.

They've done him a massive favour with that move, and it's the right decision. I was hoping they would do that, but wasn't sure they actually would. It was just an added pressure on the guy. I feel like he's looked most dangerous for us going through the middle tbh, makes him less predictable. the only thing it did for him was allow him to be more central and get on the end of a couple of things when he scored his few goals last season, in terms of his general play on the ball i don't think he was really much better though probably a bit better than when he was on the right for obvious reasons you're sacrificing a position with him in there imo, someone in that role should be comfy on the ball, beat a man, have good balance and be able to get their head up to pick the right pass and that's not almiron :/ I'd have him there just for his lovely smile, his happiness is too infectious to be out on the wing, needs to be the beacon of light in the middle But nah, you're probably right, either way his ability to win the ball back and then drive forward is hugely valuable to us whether done from the left or through the middle.

I was at Bratislava airport on Friday night and the security guard was telling me there's a football team landing shortly...
