  1. Credit where credit is due. We've Bruce to thank for making this season exciting, nervous and edgy. But for his contributions we'd have been melancholic in upper midtable all season.
  2. Yeah. You cant have a proper go against them in case it ends up 9 or something. Its the Bundesliga without Liverpool
  3. Feels like when Milan bought Papin
  4. Liverpool got Southampton next though, they're due a 9-0
  5. Blackburn to Man United in 95, Spain dominant era to Holland in the 70s sort of thing. I'm the same. There's something unromantic about it. Could at least have the decency to be like the Harlem Globetrotters with the dominance they have.
  6. Surpassed even Swindon of 100 goals against fame with games in hand.
  7. Yes. Well done boys. Hard to think halfway through that away game at Leeds and then bricking our way through the rest of it Even if that comments got the Men Without Hats song stuck in my head, possible replacement for Hey Jude
  8. I'm the same, by the same token I root for something different, fresh, something with a vibe, to get promoted. I'd have taken any of the play-offs teams over what we got automatically.
  9. Have Watford and Norwich contributed anything this season, apart from yellowness?
  10. The 93/94 defence conceded 17 goals all season in 46games in Serie A and Champions League, 31 clean sheets, 21 in the league by not mentioning them they've been underrrated technically So shout out to the collective unit of Panucci, Baresi, Costacurta, Maldini Cafu was better than Panucci but Nesta and Stam weren't as good as Baresi and Costacurta imho
  11. "our biggest ever display is planned against Arsenal" intriguing and tantalising.
  12. And yet that's so often how wars start. Between people with huge differences even closer in proximity than 12miles Times change, they're an interchangable yo-yo club in reality of the last 50years and perception. I mean unitl 2003 or even the takeover Man City getting relegated wasn't even newsworthy it was a regular occurance but that perception and reality has changed lately.
  13. Maybe fun88 is why the shirt looks modelled on the one we had in 1988, which was not fun at all. Fvck88 would be more apt.
  14. Underrated and overrated Overrated at the time - he wasn't Maradona, the step over and shift was a bit Walters/Robben/Beagrie repetative and the slightest thing seemed raved about. Underrated in the annals of time when you look back, feels almost forgotten now the original Ronaldo
  15. Just so we unerstand each other and not having a go cos you've been alright but feel I bit slighted by the implication so - I've posted on this thread a few times but can't remember the last time I watched one of your games, think the last time I seen you on TV at all was Burton a few years ago for giggles and wouldn't recognise one of your players if they knocked on my door. So 'seem' is spot on.
  16. Seth Johnson scammed a career
  17. Mark Stein Little goblin c**t was also the propent of my first dive.
  18. Yeah, no need to be morbid about missing out on a hearty laugh. When they were last in the championship that was a cracking laugh. My favourite one was their fawning over Coleman on the radio phone-in he was in for, because they'd got a win and a draw in his first two games or something. Not sure he won another game. But they know the next Brian Clough when they see it.
  19. Beresford made a point in some documentary an example of the change that you used to have 15k in the stadium 40' before kick-off. Players would get clapped on and off for their warm ups. All-seater had to be the main cause of that going, no need to get in early On my first sight of the new Leazes people were drinking and looking out to Leazes Park. Expectations is key too though. You felt the team didn't need your support at times. Yet Sheffield Wed in 97/98 was one of the best atmos I've been in, I felt, probably because of the exact opposite, without Shearer and others and after getting battered by Juventus the week before. In retrospect they're probably a lot better than people remember having a watched a few non-descript games back recently and the atmo rocking, but 92/93 93/94 were exceptional, nationally.
  20. Brian Wade. 4 goal debut against us for Brighton, 6 goals that season in all, 9 in his league career, which only lasted about 20games.
  21. I wonder who will make a bigger deal about getting to Wembley for a 3rd division play-off, Wycombe or Sunderland. Bet its not the one logic and self-professed standing would suggest.
  22. Can't see them not going through. Though after their hubristic attitudes its only fair that the good guys Wycombe prevail overall if you ask me
