  1. There's never been a good atmosphere against a Luton, even peak Keegan/atmosphere in the cup, certainly the last top flight game against them with mostly terrace was dead. That goes for pretty much everyone. There's always some games for everyone that's just bread and butter games atmospherically. Pretty much everywhere has the same discussion. See the state of Villa on Tuesday. Its been generations now since they were last regularly good anywhere in the country.
  2. Love in?! You mean respect and benefit of the doubt for a number of years of excellent work and results.? Keegan, Sir Bobby and every future manager we'll ever have will drop points at home against relegation fighters. People's expectancy of position in this seasons circumstances seems to be around 6-8. Probably only been several thousands examples of a team around 7th not beating relegation threatened teams at home. We drew 0-0 at home to a bunch of them last season ffs
  3. This season with the injuries were a side stretching to compete for the dregs of the European places and Luton have been a problem for everyone this season and in with a shot of staying up. Its not a 3rd round cup tie against a lower league club just because Luton are a small club. They're little different to Everton on the field. Were not Manchester City where we should walk every home game against anybody outside the top 7. The biggest critics are the first to point that out time and again in their comments on the manager/players and yet react like we are whenever we drop points. Everyone is disappointed at the result. Generally though nobody should be disappointed with the club/manager/players
  4. Its only seperate if you don't want to use context. Some people prefer the bipolar, reactionary reaction to every dropped point some dont. We seen how that worked out last season. It happens. They hammered Brighton in their last game. There's nothing between us and Brighton. Should they bemoan their lot based on that one game? Keegan's great team lost 2-0 and drew with far worse Luton teams than this. It would have been bang out of order to criticise the manager and players in the overall. We weren't good in either game but ffs you don't have to react to every setback like a bairn, they're going to happen forever. They still happen to Manchester City, whom were not and Luton used to beat great Liverpool teams regularly.
  5. A little respect for what they've all (over)achieved would be nice
  6. Any thoughts on the massive goal conceding increase since he's been in the team? Just as someone who slaughters everybody else if they put a pass out of place in the for 20minutes I thought that might be something someone ultra-critical and a compulsive moaner might pick up on.
  7. Its weird how he's the one person associated with the club that's above criticism to you.
  8. Steve Bruce shared trauma for me. When everyone else was telling us how great he was Villa knew and had experienced the same. More of them that get pushed down the better for me too. Can but dream, but into a crisis would be nice. Probably take the status quo over Everton but that's it.
  9. Could easily be 0-3 or 0-4 but whatever you do dont change and look at the objective or positive point of view.
  10. Cant say fairer than that. Much improved performance and a scoreline thats fully warranted. Injuries can get knotted like.
  11. From own research, 8years of being the North East's 3rd team would equal the longest run, of ours actually, ending in 1948, if excluding the war league, but this would only be their seventh anyway. Shows how much sequences mean outside of Wearside. Boro have finished ahead of the mackems more than the mackems have finished ahead of them since the 1920s! And bottom of the three 30 times to Boro 17 since the 60s.
  12. North East Wooden Spoon derby. Mackems aiming to make it 8 in row an probably a record.
  13. I thought this was working quite well anyway and quite naturally. Everton overspent and blew it and paid the price with their owner having enough of putting money in, Forest speculated to accumlate - could have gone tits up but it worked out. Both are being punished. Man City have really held themselves back from what they could do, adding a player here and there and everyone said we were doing good business that was probably enhanced by not splashing the cash scatter gun like Chelsea/Man City/Blackburn all did, and Villa have followed suit but its still not held back enough.
  14. They've just rushed this through in their haste to prevent being overhauled and wrapped it up in bow of the baloney about suddenly caring about the small clubs to think this through properly. Almost making stagnation mandatory.
  15. They had a picture of Shearer missing a penalty against them as pride of place in the foyer of their ground for years. But statues of our and the league's historic top scorer and Sir Bobby at SJP is a struggle to grasp?
  16. Nothing in this by the looks. Shame, FFP being relaxed is exactky the sort of thing that would make those two bairns react like this.
  17. Need a better source on Arteta surely. If true though, feels like something's going.
  18. Ronnie Radford and Mickey Thomas goals non-stop if Wrexham. Some JDT retro anecdotes from his time with us if Blackburn. The quality of goals would vary drastically. But the quantity virtually identical.
  19. Tyldsley and Dixon must have him questioning his outlook tonight. Best to sit this one out.
  20. Didnt know them that well as a player either the Tin Tin looking c8nt but it didn't matter to Gerald Ashby.
  21. Did't enjoy that. Compounded by the commentary team from hell. Look like were playing in treacle. Knew that was off as soon as Murphy buried with uncustomary aplomb
  22. with FFP you imagine nobody can realistically pay £100m for anyone without selling a bunch of players.
