Interesting example to choose mind Wonder if there were any other bits they didn't include in these highlights.

That's just not at all true though. Most of Murphy's output last season was when Trippier was out injured.
-
If it's contrary to a player's usual output I would agree, but if it's a continuation of existing form/output, or a sign of a player coming into the team then I think it has merit. Also, it seemed pretty relevant in the Minteh thread.

Murphy isn't hopeless We need a new RW, but a player with 3 goals and 8 assists in 26 appearances (often from the bench) last season and 5 goals in pre season this season puts him very much in the useful category. The hyperbole just to ram home a point is getting a bit hysterical tbh.
-
He was player of the season because he was class, particularly at home, but I don't think we overly relied on him due to anything other than injuries. Trippier matched his assists from RB, Bruno and Murphy weren't far behind and in terms of goals, Isak was way ahead of him and everyone. We actually got more assists from the right last season (18 vs 12) in a way making up for the difference in goals (19 from the left, 8 from the right)
-
Did we? His home record was good, but the goals and assists were spread across the squad. Isak, Trippier, Bruno, Murphy, even Longstaff all chipped in well.

You've never come up for air though.

It's just social media marketing engagement 101. No need to get your melons in a twist over it.

5 games is one way of putting it

There's 14 years of evidence of the majority of our fans refusing to do anything more productive than bitch and moan online when they had justifiable reasons to hate the way the club was being run. Eales hasn't done anything more than exist in circumstances where we haven't signed anyone of note yet and some of our more spoiled brat fans are looking to get people in their crosshairs. And by in their crosshairs I of course mean bitching and moaning about them online.

So basically we need to all lose our inhibitions and give in to the majesty that is Cumtown.

What do you reckon Eddie's ideal transfer window looks like? I'm going: Guehi Mamardashvili Gallagher Bowen Hezze Osula No one leaving

I have to be honest, I'm not sure what a good football podcast looks like now. Whether it's through fatigue, poor quality or a combination of that and other stuff, I'm just not that engaged with any of it. The Rest is Football is for me miles ahead of everything now because Lineker is engaging, his trips down memory lane are interesting, and they all have the gravitas to speak about these things. Beyond that it's The Athletic - which is carried massively by JJ Bull's self depreciation vs everyone else's heightened sense of importance about what they're doing (talking in ridiculous detail about a fun game) - and JLM's podcast with Flav. All of them are good because of their authenticity, which is why the Ramble feels so shit now because that was why it was good, but now it feels like the furthest thing from that - everything feels set up, written down beforehand, false. For all N-O's faults, I'd much rather read and engage with a post from ponsealeus or whoever else than have to put up with the average know-nowt podcast out there.

My first ever holiday! What's it like now?

Half of them are just Chelsea having mental health problems.

Honestly, I'd be suprised if many other people had made that connection between disappointing transfer window and stadium announcement tbh, but I do think they're holding the news on it back until after the transfer window

and a GK and a DM, probably in that order I reckon. Imagine last season if we also could have defended...
-
Which highlights? The ones I watched made it look like we had the better of them.
-
Sven Botman being injured and Pope being injured most of last season are the elephants in the room here. We still absolutely need a CB...and an RW, and a GK, and a DM.
-
It's all fluff when it's about sport though innit. Just makes it even funnier when Craig Hope plays the 'I'm a journalist' card when he's shit stirring, as if he's uncovered Watergate.

Think it's just the natural in-built thing with football fans to want attacking players. We definitely still need an RW like, have done for a while, but I'm okay with waiting for the right player, just so long as they are, and that the players we get the meantime vindicate Eddie's approach. He's been right up until now and I'm more than happy to trust him.
