Surely Howe's ability to coach players into being more valuable is a positive asset that you factor into his buys rather than it being a stick to beat him with for buying poorly based on those players hypothetically not being as good without it? If the end result is still the same (we get players who end up being bargains) it doesn't really matter imo, it's just one of the reasons Howe's mint.

That this opinion seems to be canny widespread is mind-blowing to me like. Howe's record (and Hickson's) in the transfer market is outstanding.

He then started taking players on for fun and scored a pen. Wish I'd fully appreciated who I was watching at the time.

Yeah it's tricky I guess because Murphy's still outperforming the better players in our team. Gordon, Bruno, Tonali, are all nearer to Isak's quality than Murphy is but aren't linking up with him as well as Murphy does.

What can I say, failure has done wonders for your humility.

Interesting to see how other people view that like, because I think of it the other way, as in Isak makes Murphy's job so much easier for him. The two of them have definitely got an understanding with each other that Isak doesn't have with Gordon as well.

Schadenfreude isn't weird, it's natural and cool. Man United ruined my childhood and the arrogant, Terry Christian types in its fanbase (not a sly dig Froggy) are the absolute worst whenever they're doing well.
