It's not my style like, I much prefer the retro style and think there's still a ton that you can do within that context to freshen things up, but as far as these 'modern' kits go I think that's not too bad tbh, definitely more interesting than our current one.

Absolutely nothing wrong with that

Was more impressed by Inter there I think. I'm far too used to seeing that Barca strip attack like that and better while also never letting Inter do what they did. Great match.

Considering how easily excitable Fletcher is over everything why did he just casually mention Yamal hitting the bar with the most outrageous attempt you're ever likely to see?
-
Does make me wonder whether it's an attempt to keep the other premier league teams sweet and not bite the hand that feeds if/when we spend more

I love just how far away those quotes are from what was claimed

They've been miles off it for ages like, horrible.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Champions League

What I posted is a huge part of the same context tbf. If the context was that that Liverpool side under Klopp had no form for going on mad runs, it would never have been a concern. Very different with nigh on every other team though, so don't think it applies at all this season with any team, not least because Villa have already just lost. -

Due to injuries and VVD not being right after his ACL mainly, but it was the experience and mentality of them knowing what needed to be done that made them very dangerous. They still ended up winning 7 and drawing 3 of the last 10 so we had to be on it. -

Also looking back, it looks like the mocking was much more to do with the comments about Longstaff and Willock, along with the insistence that "whoever buys Rice will play him as a centre back". Bit of a self own to drag the posts.

He would have been an incredible Longstaff replacement. Eddie: 36 N-O Scouting Network: 0

In 20/21 Man City were on for the quadruple right up until the end, losing the 2 they didn't win to another PL side (Chelsea) I take the point that, relatively, the competition wasn't there in the league, but they were still a fantastic side, this Liverpool side aren't. I've said it before but they filled a vacuum (left by Man City needing a rebuild and Arsenal being dickless) rather than set a standard. Agree about our season but I don't think any of us would look at this season and say we've been as consistently good in the league as we were in 22/23. Not a criticism either really, FFP has held us back, but for us to be as streaky as we've been and to have that bad a summer transfer window, but be 3rd is mad.

Not at all. It isn’t just that the points total is low on its own it's that it's low and that the title has been won with 5 games to go, so not only was a low points total needed to win, but there was also no competition at the top either. There might be good competition from 3rd to 10th but from 1st to 3rd there's none and I don't think the team that won are that good either. Pretty sure this is the earliest a club has won the PL this century. The high points seasons here had Liverpool and Man City vying it out and with other teams in the mix too. Even then I think you only need to watch the football itself, it's miles off it and it's not just limited to English teams, the standard of football has dropped this season imo.
-
Don't think anyone's disputing that they've been the best team, it's whether the standard needed to win is lower than usual. Imo it is without question. If watching Liverpool and watching the rest of the teams in the league doesn't immediately make it obvious how lower the standards are this season then looking at the table and seeing that the team at the top has won it on 82 points with 4 games left might do it. I include us in that btw, we had a shocking summer, started with poor performances, were inconsistent for ages and we're sat in 3rd, it's mad.

From just before the Leeds win. Tbh we've been so consistent overall since then that it more or less negates that initial bedding in period that Howe had. It closes the gap on 3rd by 9 points
