From that side This is mardi gras for you so enjoy it

I think there's enough of a difference between the two for it to not be semantics personally, but each to their own tbf. I think at this point him being a target at all looks bad enough, but we did go for or have like 5 or so players ahead of him.
-
Key ≠ number one target
-
Plenty of links absolutely, no denying that whatsoever. Never our number one target though.
-
Hall has been our player of the season, pretty comfortably I think, but playing Burn today made sense.
-
Absolutely wasn't like. He wasn't even first choice in that summer let alone in the time Howe has been here.
-
Yes, sorry, mixing up links and years, but tbh an even better example I wish I'd used.
-
On that point and just on the mention of Klopp earlier. Probably a point worth making that if Liverpool had been without a CEO and DoF in summer 2017 and Klopp was asked to step up, he'd have signed Bowen, not Salah.
-
Could have had a CEO and DoF
-
The desperation and spite that the twitter lot have to get rid of him is absolutely fucking mental like, some of our fans are utter cunts.
-
Terrible finish obv but considering how bad he's been, today was an overall improvement in the sense that he actually attempted to play football.

I do think we'll see a sea change based on the noises coming out around transfers and the noises I've heard about how Howe himself wanted us to be more data-lead/that he was incredibly pissed off with the situation last summer. Tbh my main fear with that is that we throw the baby out with the bathwater. Last summer was a failure, the windows before were inactive, January 22 to summer 23 with a CEO and DoF were fantastic - I hope we don't move too far away from that and end up with too many players that take forever to develop. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if some came good next season as well, nothing's impossible after we witnessed Jacob Murphy looking legitimately like a player I'd do better than into an assist extraordinaire.
-
Honestly I think the only change I've seen that could have a lasting impact is, for want of a better word, vibes. There are too many people with their knives out for him now and that's not only going to be incredibly difficult for him to turn around, but incredibly important to our success. If he manages to bring the positive energy back it may be his biggest achievement here. The entire season has been awful, with so many shitty moving parts, and it's really a test in faith, but I see it sort of like a captain that's sailed us expertly through steady waters and a couple of storms in the past sailing through a hurricane. Yes, a lot of his moves haven't been the best and he's partly responsible for the state the ship is in, but let him get back to port, make some repairs and canny upgrades and head back out again hoping the experience hasn't given him or us PTSD.
-
Sounds familiar...
-
And we're wrong now, but it wasn't based on a lack of evidence, nor does it mean that because we've had a shit season that Howe is the first thing we should choose to change.
-
Losing 1-0 and being a massive missed chance away from a 1-1 away to a team whose home form is Won 13, Drawn 2, Lost 2 despite us being in shite form and massively low on confidence seems like a high bar to meet for what's deemed acceptable, especially when 99% of the people on here's expectation was that we'd get bummed senseless.
-
Do you need brought down a peg with your own in December 2021?
-
Middle of 12/13 he lost 9 out of 11. End of 13/14 start of 14/15 he lost 17 out of 21. Knowing him there'll be other records too.
-
I know for a fact that's bullshit because I have Pardew's record more or less memorised.
-
I can't possibly imagine why we haven't turned on Howe (even though many have) when we turned on Pardew and Bruce. Get fucking Poirot on the case.
-
I'm honestly not wasting my time being dragged down to the morbidity on here. If everyone thinks that performance was as bad as they expected they're dreaming imo.
-
Okay
-
Feel like the style of football that's en vogue is honestly Allardyce/Pulis hyper-focused percentage stuff but with better players. PSG stick out like a sore thumb in Europe. Hopefully this era ends soon with a new style that overrides it.
-
I thought last season was bad, but woof.
-
I know we played better than we expected and could use this to lift our spirits a little bit, despite the scoreline, and despite everyone hating the line up, but have you considered choosing to hate everything and be unhappy?
