  1. I've missed most of the last 2 years as well, but basically just going by what Trensa said a while back about clubs going in for their players over the years and never being able to get them until Sevilla decided they wanted to sell. It could be a case of Sevilla quoting a price, standing firm and every other club playing funny buggers to try and wrangle a move at a lower price, but Sevilla are the common denominator It seems odd that every club, including clubs with tons of wealth and clubs who've spunked countless millions elsewhere, would all be the ones who played games and were unwilling to pay what had been quoted.
  2. Willing to give Staveley and co the benefit of the doubt here purely based on the times Sevilla have supposedly done it in the past.
  3. Not so much him specifically (although what I saw of him looked quality) but more the continuation of deals being on then off again.
  4. Watching our matches you get the sense that they're leaving it to each other. The ref's not giving anything thinking that the VAR will clear up any error, and the VAR's using any nebulous reason to back the decision. That's how it seems, then you watch a top 6 match...
  5. We've got the V.I seal of approval. That'll do me.

  7. Absolutely, but not good enough to be starting for Juve, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and potentially Barcelona imo. I know he has more to his game than goals, but he's never struck me as a player who belongs at that level.
  8. See I'd use those same numbers to question why he keeps getting signed.
  9. The Swedish relegation was like 40 years ago I think he's cancelled that out with his PL record since then like.

If RTG's going to try and claim £12m for Trippier isn't a great signing (which they did) then they'll say anything.
  11. Morata potential getting yet another top gig Must have the same agent as Martinez
  12. That's why people are bothered. Watford becoming average keeps them up. Hodgson's never been relegated and has experience with keeping teams up, he's been there and done it. Watford are nowhere near doomed in terms of the quality they have, so this is a very sensible appointment from them for once.
  13. He's on loan as well. Something must have been said or published for this many people to keep thinking it's a signing.
  14. Don't think so. He had them mid-table before going off to do the England job.
  15. Yeah, it gets a lot harder if it's Hodgson. Let's hope our signings override it.
  16. Don't underestimate Hodgson in the short term, he's a good manager who's well versed in these situations. He was my pick for us as a short term choice.
  17. Salisu in Shearer's TOTW again.
  18. I feel like Fonseca has finally found the ideal club willing to take him.
  19. NUFC: Will you take €55m? Sevilla: We will accept £38m

I was thinking about the best way to do this last night and thought the best way to do it would be to sign him for a fee on a 2 year contract, which satisfies Man United, but put a release clause in that's activated in the summer for around the same amount, so he can go somewhere else if he wants while we also get some money back. That way everyone gets what they want. If it really is £10m for a loan til the end of the season for a player that's not too enthusiastic about coming, that's getting a bit QPR tbh.
  22. Spam posting about having a girlfriend probably
