đ đ đ best laugh of the week! -
Must be a canny age/post retirement now.

Canât help thinking that in an ideal world nobody should give a fuck about his preferences or thoughts on playing style. Whether it aligns or doesnât with Howeâs, he should be there to ensure that we can sustainably feed the beast with the right kind of players when we need them. Suspect that beneath the managerees patter this unfortunately isnât how his role is seen. âDirectorâ roles likes to direct. The coach who works for me kind of vibe. Talentless tag alongs.

đ how does an image of Laurent Robert in that top, with cuffs attached, add anything to this memory trawl?? đ
-
Didnât recall that. On checking think it was possibly just that seasonâs Northern Rock top. Images of him playing in four other designs with cuffs intact.

Dear God⌠.

Damn! Was just about to hit your easy pitch.

âThis new fellaâs bobbins, ar kid. Says weâre not starting, shall we do one lad?â âToo right. Letâs go doughnut the ka int tâ ka park!â

Starting to irritate me that this seems to be being reported as some kind of new insight and âPhilâ isnât having it. Pretty certain the term was used extensively in pre Mitchell days, with same robust defence promised by Eales, Gnome fella, and Howe.

đ He grew-up not far from Shipmanâs stomping ground. Just saying⌠.

Me neither. We know where the leadership talent lies, as do they (I sincerely hope).

Wonder if average total match day attendance for each league would any different? Rather than average per ground per league.
-
I donât imagine this would land well, at least it wouldnât with me. Inference is: we are on a journey⌠and Howe may not be able to stay with us all the way (because heâs not up to it) or he may get tempted away because of his quality.

Two contenders in the one game!

Fair enough, Arsenal finished 5th (Emery), 6th and 5th (Wengerâs last two seasons) in the three years before Artetaâs first season. Manchester United finished 6th (Rangnick), 2nd and 3rd (Solskjaer). Not as different as I imagined. Ten Hagâs 3rd and 8th looks worse than Mourinhoâs 2nd and 6th and possibly comparable to van Gaalâs 5th and 4th before him. Itâs funny but I still think of Manchester United as a top three side but checking the facts it feels a long time since Fergusonâs side finished no lower than 3rd in the 21 seasons since he first won the PL. No wonder you have a lot of disgruntled fans given how many probably started supporting a club who won the league 13 times in that period.

Shame Barnes wasnât red carded: Sensational Alex, Harvey banned.
-
Do you think Arteta and Ten Hag picked up teams who were comparable at that point? Genuine question. It is quite magnificent for ETH to win two major cup trophies in his first two seasons, all things taken into account, but he has also guided you to your lowest ever PL finish. Finishing position this season will be critical to his potential of having a 4th yet alone 5th season.

Heâs nowhere near ready, mind. Could do with a season in a lower league.

So many unusual/unforced errors. Wonder if his confidence has taken a knock over the summer with England? Must have felt a million dollars when he joined after being player of tournament in U21 Euros. Perhaps the opposite has occurred. Hopefully temporarily.
