  1. I was in a pub in Felling watching on a big screen bought for the (non) event.
  2. I think there is much more similarity with the other Manchester take over. Let’s hope there is a similar amount of ambition and backing.
  3. I’ve seen a fair bit of Jesus (kids are City fans/live in Manchester) and genuinely think he would score significantly more in a team which relied more upon him. Also think he’d enjoy his football more because of it (despite his medal collecting hobby falling off a cliff).
  4. Can’t read the article, which Henderson? Anyhoo, if somebody did say that in such a blatantly baity way, then they’re a cheeky little rascal and I hope they live to regret it.
  5. I expect that we’ll get one or two marquee signings.
  6. He’s on his holibobs (apparently).
  7. Lad’s on holiday, I believe. As is Botman. No evidence he’s had his head turned so I’ll wait until July, or definitive news before feeling anything but optimistic about the newbies to come.
  8. It is about the blend. How different players complement each other and enable a preferred system. You can’t write off someone as mid-table solely based on the the teams they have played for/gaps they have tried to compensate for. Square pegs, square holes. Srnicek Venison Beresford Scott/Howey Watson/Elliot Bracewell Lee Clark Sellars Beardsley Cole (others were involved) finished 3rd in our first season in the Prem.
  9. He was a bit flaky towards end of last season.
  10. I’d take it all with a heavy pinch of salt. It would be different if he had already talked to Howe/Ashworth/the club and was reluctant but (1) I doubt he has and (2) I doubt he will adamantly make a decision without doing so. Remember reading that most international transfers won’t happen until first week of July. Let’s see (how fast he is…) after that.
  11. Ok, this is a long one. Assuming we have a really good (top 8) season, here is a way of gauging when we will, on average, pick up-points. Rating the teams (last season’s position) into four tiers and predicting we will pick-up (rounded-up) 7pts from T1 (all tiers ten games except 8 in Tier 3), 13 pts from Tier 2, 16pts from T3, and 20pts from T4 teams. This means the following points per game in that tier: Tier 1 H 1 point Tier 1 A 0.4 Tier 2 H 1.6 Tier 2 A 1 Tier 3 H 2.5 Tier 3 A 1.5 Tier 4 H 2 Tier 4 A 2 This would mean the following pattern of picking up points at different stages of the season and could give a sense of how on-track we are. 6.08.2022 Nottingham Forest (h) Tier 4: 2pts Total 2pts 13.08.2022 Brighton (a) Tier 2: 1pt Total 3pts 20.08.2022 Manchester City (h) Tier 1: 1 pt Total 4pts 27.08.2022 Wolves (a) Tier 2: 1pt Total 5pts 31.08.2022 Liverpool (a) Tier 1: 0.4 Total 5.4pts End of August 5 points. 03.09.2022 Crystal Palace (h) Tier 3: 2.5pts Total 7.9pts 10.09.2022 West Ham (a) Tier 2: 1pt Total 8.9pts 17.09.2022 Bournemouth (h) Tier 4: 2pts Total 10.9pts End of Sep 11 points. 01.10.2022 Fulham (a) Tier 4: 2pts Total 12.9pts 08.10.2022 Brentford (h) Tier 3: 2.5pts Total 15.4pts 15.10.2022 Manchester United (a) Tier 1: 0.4pts Total 15.8pts 19.10.2022 Everton (h) Tier 4: 2pts Total 17.8pts 22.10.2022 Tottenham Hotspur (a) Tier 1: 0.4pts Total 18.2pts 29.10.2022 Aston Villa (h) Tier 3: 2.5pts Total 20.7pts End of Oct 21 points. 05.11.2022 Southampton (a) Tier 3: 1.5pts Total 22.2pts 12.11.2022 Chelsea (h) Tier 1: 1pt Total 23.2pts 26.12.2022 Leicester City (a) Tier 2: 1pt Total 24.2pts 31.12.2022 Leeds United (h) Tier 4: 2pts Total 26.2pts End of Dec 26 points. 02.01.2023 Arsenal (a) Tier 1: 0.4pts Total 26.6pts 14.01.2023 Fulham (h) Tier 4: 2pts Total 28.6pts 21.01.2023 Crystal Palace (a) Tier 3: 1.5pts Total 30.1pts End of Jan 30 points. 04.02.2023 West Ham (h) Tier 2: 1.6pts Total 31.7pts 11.02.2023 Bournemouth (a) Tier 4: 2pts Total 33.7pts 18.02.2023 Liverpool (h) Tier 1: 1pt Total 34.7pts 25.02.2023 Brighton (h) Tier 2: 1.6pts Total 36.3pts End of Feb 36 points. 04.03.2023 Manchester City (a) Tier 1: 0.4pts Total 36.7pts 11.03.2023 Wolves (h) Tier 2: 1.6pts Total 38.3pts 18.03.2023 Nottingham Forest (a) Tier 4: 2pts Total 40.3pts End of Mar 40 points. 01.04.2023 Manchester United (h) Tier 1: 1pt Total 41.3pts 08.04.2023 Brentford (a) Tier 3: 1.5pts Total 42.8pts 15.04.2023 Aston Villa (a) Tier 3: 1.5pts Total 44.3pts 22.04.2023 Tottenham Hotspur (h) Tier 1: 0.4pts Total 44.7pts 25.04.2023 Everton (a) Tier 4: 2pts Total 46.7pts 29.04.2023 Southampton (h) Tier 3: 2.5pts Total 49.2pts End of Apr 49 points. 06.05.2023 Arsenal (h) Tier 1: 1pt Total 50.2pts 13.05.2023 Leeds United (a) Tier 4: 2pts Total 52.2 pts 20.05.2023 Leicester City (h) Tier 2: 1.6pts Total 53.8pts 28.05.2023 Chelsea (a) Tier 1: 0.4pts Total 54.2pts End of May 54 points. 12. Ah well. 6 days of the window gone, 84 days (93%) left. Sweet dreams all.
  13. Augerd is superquick. Is Botman slow again? Or it’s all a cunning ruse? Time will tell.
  14. We defo need comparison pics if we’re to believe this ten-years-younger bragging!
  15. Lifetime supply of ham and pease pudding stotties.

Soft Rains of April for me (keep the faith Eddie! ?)
  18. Engage bullshit radar (especially given source)… “Sven Botman has once again rejected the advances of Newcastle United as he has his heart set on a move to AC Milan, a report claims. This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (via MilanNews) makes the stance of the parties very clear. Both Milan and Newcastle strongly want Botman but they player only wants the Rossoneri, while Lille are instead pushing to make him accept the proposal of the Premier League club.” https://sempremilan.com/botman-rejects-newcastle-united-lille-milan
  19. Anyone know when the squad are called back for pre-season training?
  20. Rapido! Like the Proclaimer’s off a stick! (To be confirmed on signature)
