Put Bruno back in my fantasy team for this—alongside his mate Paqueta (…it’s not the same!!!). Clean sheet. A goal and two assists for Bruno and a brace for Isak. Thunder bastard header from Botman. Yes please and thank you very much! -

Someone very generously posted the full game, won by Liam O’Brien’s free kick. Which I watched from their Clock Stand—full 90 minutes, I hasten to add.

Not really. We’d all have had this down for a likely three points. But we’ve picked-up points where we may not have. Even a draw here and we’re still in the ‘average zone’ (for a 10th place kind of season). -
Just read through it. Some balanced views. Perhaps there is just a larger percentage of the hard of thinking in the NUFC (or alternative preferred insulting title) thread.

? but Howay man, nowt wrong with Haway—listen to enough Tynesider’s saying it and it can sound like both. -
Well done that man. (Now please stay away from the twits).

From what I’ve read, Gallagher was as much a pest as Bellamy, but stronger and a better natural finisher. Don’t know if he was as quick but as I couldn’t envisage Shearer and Milburn in the same side, and the Cole-Beardsley link-up seemed hard to ignore, thought I’d give Wee Hughie the nod.
-
Gutted for him to miss out on a call-up. I know there is competition but perhaps the stuff he does really well just doesn’t stand out as much as the more obvious game changing moments which might draw attention from distant coaches/decision makers.

Instead of protest working (as if…) you could take the extra bank holiday and go on a Lautrec to Toulouse to find out? (I can’t help myself; I can only apologise…) -

Cool. What was it? -
I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t come here. Don’t really care about the huffing and puffing on Wearside; it’s inevitable they’ll lose any decent talents they manage to get their hands on/develop. Plus they probably can’t afford to tyrn down that kind of money (even from us) for a kid who may still may not make it.

Yep, just a bad call. Would have been more likely to have a collective show of respect if the games had went ahead. Increased the likelihood of people taking an opportunity to express dissatisfaction by postponing/disrupting hundreds of thousands of people’s plans and opportunities for pleasure/leisure. Imagine if they postpone the next lot of matches as well and still go for a minute’s silence first game back? Hope it doesn’t happen, but asking for trouble. -

Nah. I just think they’re a contrary independent republic, with a longstanding chip on their shoulder, and pretty much always have been. Pies and Prejudice (Stewart Maconie) a book about Northern England, is a good read (we get a positive treatment) if you want a humorous take on it. Lots to like about the city (not including the faux trying too hard scouse accents of some of the Merseyside ‘youf’). Monarch’s don’t put in place governments, in any meaningful sense. The stacked deck of our system of voting does: a proportional one person one vote and we’d have a fairer society. Anyhoo, we’d be super excited about this match by now. Pisser. -
Can’t confirm quality, or that they definitely ship to USA, but I have just ordered a personalised kids’ strip for a present (Man City ?♂️) from Fruugo. Seems to be a fair bit of NUFC stuff so might be worth a look.

The beauty of Wor Flags is the dedication of the people giving their time and skills for the collective benefit of our club. This makes me think whatever they want to do, within reason, I’d be supportive of. However, it risks divisiveness if drifting into any shows of support which aren’t purely NUFC related. Such cracks can be difficult to mend. Apparently only a third of young people are pro-Royal/think the Royal family should continue (link below). The proportion growing to three quarters of over 65s. I’m guessing even with the mood music ‘the establishment’ (sorry if this sounds paranoid) is playing, trying to whip-up common human decency and respect for life and loss, into a national mass grieving, there’s probably an even split across all age groups with a third caring, a third ambivalent and a third totally unaffected by the death of Elizabeth. Probably best to steer clear, adopt a neutral position and simply keep aligned with what the group is there to do/all fully committed to. https://www.statista.com/statistics/863893/support-for-the-monarchy-in-britain-by-age/ -
