  1. Did he really score 16 goals in 43 Man City appearances!? He’s only 24 now so must have been 21-22 at the time. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferran_Torres
  2. We prefer all those who reliably signal a goal from outside the box (or preferably our own half!)
  3. Would be fascinating to see how all successful managers of big budget clubs do with less resources. We occasionally get to see the opposite, and I guess Rafa might be an example of big to low budget, but an equal transfer budget would in time separate the men from the boys.
  4. Updates from Nuffield lurkers blew the Plane Spotting thread out of the water (well, sky…) in terms of excitement.
  5. “Newcastle will be able to sign players from Friday, June 14 when the summer transfer window opens for English clubs. Deadline day is Friday, August 30.” From Shields Gazette. Friday could be the day! (One of many hopefully).
  6. https://youtu.be/LZSbMG3nG3Y?si=VnTFGVKiRHBhegUp Anybody go? Looks amazing.
  7. There isn’t even a recognised ’ —philia’ for that level of depravity!
  8. Nuffield (or wherever) spotters on alert!
  9. Tough listen (on basis of first 20 seconds…).
  10. Only strong memory of him is coming on as a sub at home against Sunderland. I desperately wanted him to make a difference (and trying to get a chant going for him) . He played really poorly. It’s not like he was particularly young at the time (23-24). I guess some players develop/blossom later.
  11. 28 his year but other than that totally agree 👍Even though done very little to impress in the last seven years, he certainly looked like he had everything as a young player at Man City.
  12. Could have, in a PSR free world, had Gordon, Palmer and Gibbs-White in the same side. I, for one, would definitely have been more interested in the England team in the future!
  13. Prepare to take a bow @Jack27
  14. Farewell Ryan, hope you continue to enjoy your playing career/making a difference.
  15. Good spot that man! Not sure about your hit rate though, I’ve just read countless posts by you that we were nailed on to get: Victor Osimhen, Cole Palmer, Connor Gallagher, Phil Foden, Michael Olise and Rodrygo….(not really 😉).
  16. I like stats, but (pre coffee) don’t really understand that. Are you basically saying he is good at creating opportunities to score for himself? Or something else?
  17. Just seen this 😂
  18. I read Leonard Rossiter.
  19. I’ve just heard a rumour (in my own head) that he may be Supemac’s grandson.
  20. £25m quoted in January (when we were linked).
  21. I do like a Scottish, Irish, English… Danish! I do like a good Danish midfielder.
  22. It’s a good question, and I’m not sure; it probably depends on character/psychology is what springs to mind. It might be that with the right mindset and self belief, a keeper/player can put in the same kind of performance in front of one man and his dog as he can in front of the watching millions. There comes a point where he would have to prove that, but step one is being the best on the training ground. If/when he is he’ll get his chance.
  23. Young as he is, he has big game/tournament experience. My guess is, as long as he looks good in training/performs well on the various goalkeeping exercises they routinely perform, then he will play if Pope is injured and may be used in cups.
  24. Before the creation of Metropolitan boroughs in 1974, County Durham stretched from the river Tees to the Tyne and Derwent in the North. They’ve never been the, or the primary/main, football club of County Durham. Using this kind of reasoning we are the primary football club of ‘Tyne & Wear’. If you take into account more ancient history, their current location (and ours) were all part of the, much bigger, Kingdom of Northumbria. Plus, returning to modern day England. There are nine regions, the North East has the smallest population, circa 2.6m, and the capital city is Newcastle. I reckon NUFC should therefore be the ‘One North East’ Premier League football side. It would be nice if everyone else had second teams, Hartlepool, Gateshead, Darlington, Sunderland etc. but one day we may have all true proud North Eastern football fans rooting for their regional capital in the big league(s).
  25. Love that! Wor Anthony making a brief cameo as well! (…and how young does Palmer seem!)
