  1. I get it. Suspect it is a more common feeling in both fan bases. Think I just love all games that matter—that have that visceral heightened meaning/emotion—and, maybe somewhat masochistically, revel in this despite the fact that I/we can’t influence the outcome. Football is about feelings; not all of them good!
  2. Gameweek 16 Chelsea 1-1 Everton Liverpool 2-1 Brighton Burnley 2-1 Fulham Arsenal 3-0 Wolves Palace 2-2 Man City Forest 2-1 Spurs Sunderland 1-3 Newcastle West Ham 2-2 Villa Brentford 3-2 Leeds Man United 1-1 Bournemouth
  3. Anybody else phenomenally excited that these are our next league game? Perverse as some may see it I just love the tension of a derby. Some of my best football ‘historical’ experiences (yes I do have a selective memory…) come from playing these. Particularly away; couple of times in the wrong end. One for the (not so oldies…): “We've got Michael Owen, you've got John Stead. We've got Alan Shearer, you've got Dean Whitehead.” (Had to search to check for their players’ names which reinforces the point!)
  4. Gordon(s) you say. Me too, brace incoming.
  5. Great watch. Thanks for posting the link.
  6. For an absolutely ridiculous price t’other day. Lad has barely played.
  7. Least we are at home. I am irrationally confident we’ll do them.
  8. Just watched the Burnley match. He’s back. Could have had a hat trick and they just couldn’t live with him.
  9. Gameweek 15 Villa 1-0 Arsenal Bournemouth 0-1 Chelsea Everton 1-1 Forest Man City 3-1 Sunderland Newcastle 3-1 Burnley Spurs 2-0 Brentford Leeds 1-2 Liverpool Brighton 3-1 West Ham Fulham 2-2 Palace Wolves 1-2 Man United
  10. Very little came off for him last night. Though did lay ball off for Bruno. Wissa/an option will be game changing for us.
  11. Will win. (unless Eddie has made a deal with the devil/his Burnley supporting consultant physician ;-)
  12. He was fuming with Romero. Assumed it was for doing the same goal celebration as him for the second (and feeling disrespected) or possibly general Brazil-Argie thing.
  13. First goal he'll be disappointed to be beaten at the post he is standing on, and it isn't in the corner (more slightly under his hand). Reactions don't look slow but nevertheless I think he saves that more times than not. Scrappy second goal and a real kick in the nads, but having watched it a few times now not sure he is sighted once the Shinner is hit (four players in eye line). Punch goes off side rather than meat of his fist, he isn't really impeded, only Dan Burn slightly in the way, so again he'll be disappointed to only clear it 12 yards (and given how much he catches suspect if Burn wasn't there that is what he would have done/attempted).
  14. Well that's been a joyous read. Faith in human nature well and truly restored. In other news, last night's game brought our glorious leader to the same number of league games as Alan Pardew. The points per game (PPG) for Eddie, and co, are second only to KK. After the Palace, at home, game on January 4th Eddie will have managed the same number of league games, in the Premier (-ship and -League) as Special K (both spells combined). Despite the 'folklore' about Keegan teams' defending and all out attack goal-frenzy, Howe's teams have already conceded 21 more goals and only scored one less (7 fewer games). Even if we win all 7 games he still can't surpass a like for like points return, as the PPG will only rise to 1.73. The remaining Premier era managers, who have at least a season's worth of games, are included for comparison/a laugh.
  15. He was properly outraged at Romero mimicking/mocking his goal celebration. Argie barsteward. They are same age group, probably have a lot of history.
  16. Miley is quietly effective. Having a better game than Tonali imo.
