  1. Still have amazing supporters. Absolutely, incredibly efficient when streaming out after an hour.
  2. There's probably some cunning work-around where we can justifiably ease him in gradually building up minutes whilst claiming he isn't fit for International duty. The bar stewards broke our new toy last time so surely they can't complain too much.
  3. Stats update on Eddie's reign. Despite frustrating recent form in the league, and low points per game (ppg) for this season, slicing results by calendar years shows that our 1.63 ppg thus far for 2025, is approaching the averages for the previous two years: 1.66 ppg, 2024; 1.65, ppg, 2023. Still a way to go to match that unbelievable second half of his first season coupled with the beginning of 2022-23, which led to 2.00 ppg for 2022. Even if we won the last six league games of 2025 most we could average is 1.85ppg.
  4. No surprises here, but our Makem-marra cousins are still on track for their best ever Premier season. 17 points above their worst season (for same number of games), 9 points above their average, and two points above their best. Also, 10 points above the average points total for the team eventually finishing in 18th. Hats off to them. It's rare that a quickly cobbled together team clicks so well. Even if they go into a tailspin through December and January (Liverpool A; Man City A, NUFC H, Brighton A, Leeds H; Man City H, Spurs A, Brentford A, Palace H, West Ham A) they will still be fine, e.g. their current points total of 22 is what you'd expect the average 'relegated in 18th team' to have at the end of January.
  5. Here's an end of November update on how we are doing against the trajectory towards the average points total for sixth place (taking into account quality of opposition we play in the different months and whether home or away). In short, despite current placement in the league we are only two points away from where we would expect to be; if we were aiming to finish sixth. We'd need to pick up 12-13 points in December (6 games), or 21 points in December and January combined (11 games) to get back on track.
  6. That’s standard Shearer patter tbf, whip it in quick, get it to the centre forward early etc etc. Not everyone has what you had, Alan.
  7. Gameweek 14 Bournemouth 1-0 Everton Fulham 1-1 Man City Newcastle 3-2 Spurs Arsenal 2-1 Brentford Brighton 2-2 Villa Burnley 1-2 Palace Wolves 0-2 Forest Leeds 1-2 Chelsea Liverpool 3-0 Sunderland Man United 2-0 West Ham
  8. Think you just have to applaud the goal. Superb, movement, touch and finish.
  9. Should be an estate agent.
  10. … I’m adding this to my Xmas list. (All the other kids have got one, Mam).
  11. Start of a decade long unbeaten run at a new stadium. The possibility of the improbability is nice to imagine.
  12. If we’re dreaming, let’s dream big. Amidst much mag-abuse, a hattrick in the first fifteen minutes. Then season ending tackle by Fab’s international mate, who is then banned for the rest of the season.
  13. Just want to see him lash in a high shot or two, seems to be a lot of bobbling side foot placement attempts. Not sure if it is confidence or being determined to do what he thinks has the best probability. Ahhh I am not really sure, it is just so disappointing. When he puts everything together and plays with more freedom he is such a handful and can be a joy to watch. The coaching staff, and himself, must be even more frustrated than us fans, but that is a pretty high bar at the moment.
  14. Gameweek 13 Brentford 3-1 Burnley Man City 3-0 Leeds Sunderland 1-2 Bournemouth Everton 1-1 Newcastle Spurs 2-1 Fulham Palace 3-1 Man United Villa 4-0 Wolves Forest 2-2 Brighton West Ham 1-2 Liverpool Chelsea 2-2 Arsenal
  15. Kees Smit (Torygraph) … yes please!!
  16. Second goal and think we would have won. Even the disallowed one after they scored. If we managed to put away one of the chances at 1-0 then it would have been a completely different game/second half, quieter crowd less impetus from them, easier to ride the game out.

    Nick Pope

Or PPRSD… Post Pope Rash-Dash Disorder. More letters = must be worse.
  18. That 500 or so years, in terms of historic county boundaries. What was the county town of Northumberland during that period? https://wikishire.co.uk/map/#northumberland/centre=55.204,-2.112/zoom=8
  19. Errrrr… for about 500 years Newcastle was the ‘capital’ as in county town, administrative centre, and the largest town/settlement of Northumberland.
  20. Hey! Just read Tino L (not A) was a striker as a kid. Even he might be a better third choice option. Just a thought…
