  1. Yes Yes No. Were we spending the circa 2.5 times the dosh?
  2. Don’t mind Casemiro’s angle, i.e. it is the worst season for their club in the Premier League/ship era (trumping last year’s lowest league finish, and by some distance but without cup compensation) but he’s happy with his own hard work/dedication. The way he was moving last night though, risks being known as Trunkmiro.
  3. Let’s get Wharton instead. Also shoots like a 12 year old =good fit 😉 (now Wharton behind Bruno and Tonali would be the best midfield we’d ever seen).
  4. Gameweek 38 Bournemouth 2-1 Leicester Fulham 1-2 Man City Ipswich 1-3 West Ham Liverpool 2-1 Palace Man United 2-1 Villa Newcastle 2-0 Everton Forest 1-1 Chelsea Southampton 0-3 Arsenal Spurs 1-3 Brighton Wolves 1-1 Brentford
  5. I reckon slightly tumescent, sun’s out it’s that mind wandering time of day.
  6. ‘Kin hell. We’ll be TNT I bet. Need to check my one month subscription via Prime is still valid. (it is! Phew)
  7. Plus they have a Georgian drunk tank as their badge. Embarrassing really.
  8. Gotta love an algorithm but it is either too early or my brain is addled. Let’s just win. Or if we don’t, let us win the Europa league.
  9. Do they though? And how can you not? The moments they produce when they grace our pitch, when they enhance our lives. The memories and heart felt connection they make. Weaved in throughout our own personal life are the players who we identify with, feel for, who represent something great and meaningful to us. Off the top of my head, for me David McCreery, Glenn Roeder, Kevin Keegan, Mirandinha, Peter Beardsley, Lee Clark, Steve Watson, Les Ferdinand, David Ginola, Nolberto Solano, many more in the past and into our current era. They have all left something indelible with me and with thousands more. Bruno Guimarães is one of those players; someone who never goes even when they are long gone.
  10. Fucking hell, man. That should have come with a warning.
  11. Only known fact is he’s shit at maths.
  12. Don’t get the tide turning (for some) re Gordon. He has been unplayable at times and relentless most of the time. Nobody, particularly of the speed merchant forward variety, is on top form all the time. He’ll come good and can be a key part of a successful side for years to come. Personally really hope that side is us. And he is incredibly ‘likeable.’
  13. It’s disappointing when there was a chance of finishing—and who would have thought it—second. Two things stand out for me: (1) we did better than I thought we would, could quite comfortably have been two up at half time (and this despite absence of Isak and neither Gordon or Barnes stepping-up and having good games—latter barely touched the ball, very little came off for former.); (2) we really need a deeper squad. Particularly a striker/forward.
  14. Did you watch the game after our substitutions?
  15. Light bulbs… fuck Edison and his patent… light bulbs are Geordie (well sort of). Collingwood Street was first in the world with outdoor electric lighting thanks to Joseph Swan, Gateshead resident and member of Newcastle Lit & Phil who independently invented them. Also, I think, his invention was the first to enable electric lights in domestic homes as well. Stick that in your shit metaphor ‘socket’ Arteta!
  16. Wouldn’t be the first time.
  17. Given his recent form, to play regularly here, he would, ahem, have to pull his socks up.
  18. Take your point, but personally think all the furore over VAR making players run more and increasing risk of injury directly and indirectly (because they’re unnecessarily more tired) is pretty ridiculous. Such a relatively small additional amount of routine play, ignores rest periods whilst they work out the correct decision, and basically anything that happens is a possible outcome of playing competitive sport.
  19. Nice traditional stadium, good heritage, passionate fans. Would like to see The Blades back in the big show.
  20. Just read Keegan’s autobiography. The corporate interference (and incompetence) made me properly cringe. Fucking awful he had to go through what he did with those chancers. Sounds like some dubious practices, what Mr Wise-not wise (who apparently toted around an exercise book with MrWise’s book written on it) called a ‘commercial’ (deal) haven’t ceased — thinking of recent signing of Vlachodimos (had to look up his name…).
