  1. We have four games in the next ten days (Man City, Burnley, PSG, West Ham), after three in last 8 days. They have four in the next 12 days (Newcastle, Wolves, Leipzig, Arsenal) after three in last seven days. Our load looks worse than theirs, although we are only away in one of the forthcoming fixtures (London) and they are away for all four, including a trip to Germany.
  2. Is anyone curious to know how Miggy would do with an extended run on the left?
  3. I guess Rooney is the exception, but to be fair I reckon he would have thrived in any academy.
  4. Fair point, but I’ll never forget the performance he put in against Spurs in the last game of the season. Unplayable.
  5. Appreciated the long highlights. Three good saves, couple of mishit chances, a disallowed goal, and a clear penalty not given. Really could have been double figures. All the more remarkable given how well they have shut out other top teams and the fact they started quite well!

Had similar thoughts. I think Ramsdale might be our next goalkeeper. Fits the profile—personality, skill set wise, and top quality but still only 25 with room for improvement.
  7. How knackered does Bruno look there!? Normally fatigue disappears with the joy of scoring, wouldn’t be surprised if he was on the bench tomorrow.
  8. What goes around, comes around Charlie boy.
  9. ‘Kin hell. Hope he’s not out in Sheffield any time soon.
  10. And he’s much, much better looking than Smoggie Sicknote ‘Simon’ (…as I now seem to be disrespectfully thinking of Woodgate).
  11. If I recall correctly, epic battle though it was, a young Drogba shoulder to shoulder for most of the sprint, edged past him at least once.
  12. I saw most of Woodgate’s 28 games—well all the home ones inc Europe and a few away, he was class act no doubt. But QxU Andy, it’s a thing!
  13. Botman’s already played nearly twice as many games as Woodgate. Schar has played approaching three times as many. Both better in my book: quality and utility (QxU statistic I’ve apparently just made up!). Are you having that @STM?
  14. Thing is though, once you have seen evidence of somebody regularly performing well you know that they can. Not just hope that they might turn the occasional glimpse of potential into something more consistent and reliable. Form comes and goes for all—much more in than out for the very best, obviously. I’ve seen enough consistency from him to be confident he will fulfil the potential (based on the attributes you’re aware of) he evidently has. He’s looking like an exceptionally good value signing.
  15. Probably a safer bet to just ‘crown him’, I.e. celebrate what he is regularly doing, now. As you say, form and influence comes and goes. Signs are there though for a cracking ‘break through’ season though.
  16. Seems a bit elaborate/high maintenance mate. I mean, if there was a ton of cash for winning (is my cheque in the post @Magpie??) then such subterfuge might be expected, but it wouldn’t be much fun just choosing someone else’s scores would it? Professional pundits included. I like to see if I have done better than Lawro or Sutton for example, rather than be guided by them.
  17. He likes it/gives him a rewarding shiver up the spine ?‍♂️
  18. I think it would have been better for Sellers’ skill set tbh. Reminds me of Maddison in many ways.
  19. Gameweek 7 Villa 3-2 Brighton Bournemouth 0-1 Arsenal Everton 2-1 Luton Man United 2-1 Palace Newcastle 3-1 Burnley West Ham 3-1 Sheff United Wolves 1-4 Man City Spurs 3-2 Liverpool Forest 2-2 Brentford Fulham 2-0 Chelsea Luton 2-1 Burnley
  20. Shirt pulling going unpunished. The amount versus AC Milan and Sheffield United was ridiculous.
