  1. My spider senses are still saying he may well come this way. I do actually rate him as well, so maybe a bit if wishful thinking. Not that I think he would inevitably start in front of Pope.
  2. Gameweek 11 Fulham 2-2 Man United Brentford 2-1 West Ham Burnley 1-1 Palace Everton 2-1 Brighton Man City 4-0 Bournemouth Sheff United 0-2 Wolves Newcastle 1-1 Arsenal Forest 1-2 Villa Luton 0-2 Liverpool Spurs 2-1 Chelsea
  3. Except, you could argue the ‘Premiership’ or the satellite television money attached, changed the game. In theory making it easier to markedly improve your team through the influx of foreign talent who could, in the main, earn a much better living here. So if the parameters/goal posts shift using 1992-1993 as a start for records has some validity. Plus, it is pretty much becoming synonymous for in living memory/modern times for most supporters.
  4. I think he has adopted Bruno’s ‘fold from the waist when you feel someone behind you’ thing. It’s getting irritating; from both of them.
  5. Tough call this one. Best chance of winning something this season but do we go all in for what might be the toughest of the remaining fixtures?
  6. Update on tracker towards a top six finish, taking account of the relative difficulty of games as they fall across the season. 17 points, at the end of October, puts us on track for a fifth place finish for the average PL season (assumptions in hidden content quoted). 6th would be 16 points to date. 4th would be 18 points, third 19, second 21 and first 23.
  7. Trippier should have been shouting at himself yesterday. Unusually high number of errors. Worst game? Or certainly first half he’s had for us.
  8. That’s a high bar for fine. Doubt we’re getting 70 points. Low 60’s would be my guess.
  9. Trafford and Salford Quays are quite nice, I.e. the immediate surroundings. OT (area) is quite ropey. But the stadium and OT itself are in the borough of Trafford which is the most affluent of the ten GM boroughs.

I believe he really wanted Szoboszlai. Based on not very much bar a preseason admission, not long after he signed for Liverpool, of how emotionally draining/stressful (can’t recall exact his words) the transfer effort had been.
  11. Imagining them as WWI colonels, Keegan would get you up and out of the trenches, feeling invincible and charging machine posts. Leading to many against the odds triumphs, but much loss of life. I suspect Howe would win more battles.
  12. Quite fancy us away to Dortmund; much more than at PSG. Eddie will want tactical revenge and he’s just the man to get it.
  13. Gameweek 10 Palace 1-2 Spurs Chelsea 1-0 Brentford Arsenal 4-0 Sheff United Bournemouth 1-2 Burnley Wolves 1-1 Newcastle West Ham 1-2 Everton Villa 3-1 Luton Brighton 2-2 Fulham Liverpool 3-0 Forest Man United 0-1 Man City
  14. Don’t know like, that’s a tough completion to win.
  15. If you look at Indices of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) for the former CCG areas (2019), public access online, Sunderland is 27th most deprived area (from 191). For comparison, the only ‘more deprived’ North East areas are South Tees at 26th. South Tyneside, 21st. Durham Dales, Easington & Sedgefield 19th. Some other notable areas with high deprivation in the North, include: Blackpool 2nd, Manchester 3rd, Liverpool 6th, and Salford 16th. Other North East areas with less deprivation than the above are Newcastle Gateshead at 55th, Hartlepool Stockton at 64th, Darlington at 76th, North Durham at 88th, North Tyneside 91st, and Northumberland the least deprived at 93rd (though still only creeping towards the top half of England as a whole).
  16. I reckon even 11 points, from the next 7 games, keeps us on track for sixth. There are two ‘Tier 1’ teams (Arsenal and Man Utd) at home, two Tier 2 teams (Chelsea at home, Spurs away), two Tier 3 teams (Wolves and Bournemouth) away, and one Tier 4 (Everton) away. Anything more than that and we’re looking at/on track for an even higher finish than that.
  17. Check out the difference between a disease and an illness.
  18. Keep saying what you’re seeing lads. Can’t get sight of of this match. ?
  19. Interested in your view on this, as someone who (I think) has a longer experience of NUFC than me. Which players/managers in our living memory would you see as having more of a positive impact on Newcastle?
