Maybe a tad harsh with worst, but I recall extreme cringing and hiding my face on more than one occasion witnessing the joys of Des Hamilton in the past. In terms of a particular game, for some (probably alcohol related) reason I had massively talked-up Billy Askew before the disastrous 0-2 promotion play-off defeat to Sunderland in 1990. It seemed to me, amongst the general despair, that everything he touched turned to shite.

I hope he has the cojones to stick to his preferences (whatever they may be). Grealish has suffered from being slotted into a wide left role and from the style/philosophy at Man City. I think both him and Foden are best placed in that roving role between a striker and midfield. It’s a big call not to play cards like Foden and Bellingham, when you’ve been dealt them, but hope he plays the latter deeper and alternates Grealish with Foden. Whoever plays there needs to stop bunching up/gravitating to the left. Just gets in the way of the real talent 😉

No time with the internationals/big hitters involved to iron out our attacking play, and general use of the ball in possession. Let’s hope they come back raring to go and it all just clicks. I’m not currently reaching my usual fever pitch prematch optimism about this one.

Bruno subbed at half time for Joao Pedro; hopefully just tactical switch.
