Joelinton just had a bad year. Total lack of confidence after 10 games or so. Never got it back. He tried though, there was very few if any games where I thought his attitude was wrong. A deeper role where he can make runs, give and go type shit, that’s where he’ll prosper. The problem is, if someone like Callum Wilson comes in, who do you drop to give Joelinton a place in the team?

It’s a load of bollocks to suggest that the deal is being done on the quiet. The deal was done, the negotiating part was finished long ago. If you’re referring to the o&d’s test, why would the PL let it go through quietly when we already know they’ve picked sides with Qatar (Bein) As if they would double cross them now. It’s done, as in not happening/finished. And the cherry on top will be when Staveley loses her case against Barclays, she won’t have any chips left on the table once that happens. This was the chance. We got fucked on it probably by both sides. Fans lose again and now we’re stuck with a Mike Ashley who’s lost his shirt this year. For our sanity we need to let this go.

How do we know they would have found MBS an unfit or unproper person? That’s a rather massive political call. Would they have had to inform PIF that this may have been the case?, which is why then they pulled out? On the surface it looks like the PL just didn’t follow their own procedures

That we’re being linked with so many defenders suggests that they’re going to cash in on someone, I’d say Lejeune might be one who Bruce isn’t a fan of, Schär too maybe but he’s only got himself to blame there, rubbish in the last few games.

My marquee signing in FM20 Mobile, he’s been amazing. He was probably featured in the general football thread from around a year ago. Walked off the pitch after having chairs thrown at him and racist abuse. I’d say Porto are desperate to sell which is why the low ball bid. He’s not a bad player at all. Strong, decent pace. Will miss his fair share of chances though. Overall better than what we have. He would certainly take the pressure off Joelinton in having to play a role that blatantly isn’t suited to him.

Still don't think they will come in just the two of them. They had such a small percentage, they won't go in at 50/50. I do think Stavely is probably casting her net out to see if she can get other investors interested though. Agree with you that PIF are gone. Yup, having watched a few interviews with Yasir Al-Rumayyan, one thing you can be fairly certain of is that he’s not indecisive. The deal would have made sense in early lockdown.. now several months later, with no clear sign of crowds being back and all the other financial implications of Covid, it’s a deal that stopped making sense to all but Newcastle supporters. I think Mandy is invested in the club now, as a supporter perhaps now too. She won’t go away until there’s no options, but that might be another 2/3 years or more. Look how long it took to put together that consortium. One thing Mike Ashley could do to open up the club to investment is by floating it again publicly?

PIF are gone. I don’t think they’ll be back to the table on this. In my humblest, I think the only way a takeover happens is if Staveley wins her case against Barclays, or at least gets half of what she was looking for. Then the Reubens might come back in with her.

They make the BZG crowd look like Warren Buffet. Anyone going public with an intent to purchase the club better have the coin to back up a bid as our fanbase are so cynical now they’ll have their whole business history torn to shreds within hours. It couldn’t have backfired on them any worse.

He played 24 games for Burnley season gone, dropped when he told them he wasn’t signing a new contract. Overall they had a decent season. Last season we couldn’t beat them. It’s not out of this world to suggest he might actually be an improvement on one or two of our midfield options. We still don’t know how committed Hayden is either.

Am totally resigned to this being over for good now. A small slice of hope it was just a game and they’d be back in if anything changed, but nope, they squared up with Qatar and lost, well they knew they would lose so they bailed out before then. We’re now stuck with a skint Mike Ashley who wants rid but no buyers. Worst case scenario. The only positive is that he can’t afford to sell off the likes of ASM as there’d be nothing going for the club once players like him have gone.
